Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOutdated hotel. A bit of mold buildup in the shower, noisy (no sound insulation), and old carpets. The iron has a stuck stain, making ironing difficult. No option for opening windows as expected in an apartment. Low value for money and disappointed with the Quest brand, which has been great in other cities/venues in the past. Parking is extremely tight.
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Comfy bed.

New ZealandRooms exceptionally hot, ac doesn’t work so they have put loud stand up fans in the room. Staff understanding though and helped us to switch to a slightly cooler room on other side of building which was mildly better.

New ZealandIt’s only a minor thing was that there’s a hole in the shower if you put it full blast you will be hit on the face with a splash of water, it was absolutely hilarious but others might not find it funny.
Super close to everything All the staff are friendly and approachable The apartment was well above my expectations and I don’t see myself staying at any other type of accommodation than a quest apartment!

United KingdomVery loud outside. Door didn’t have a lock so didn’t feel secure. Apartment was quite tired with scuff marks on the walls, tired furniture, and lots of structural oddities (e.g. the counter top in the kitchenette was torn away from the legs, and the shelf in the bathroom was barely hanging on). Flat didn’t really feel clean. Surfaces in kitchen were sticky, and the bathroom floor wasn’t clean.
Location is really convenient for airport bus at Sky City. Receptionist was friendly. Executive apartment was good size and had a nice balcony with a good view.

New ZealandThe aircon unit in room 303 needs to be replaced asap! At summer when we stayed, it cannot cool down the room. There were 2 stand/tower fans but still sweating inside and it was cooler outside in the hallway.
The apartment had a washing machine, and dryer and laundry powder was provided for 1 full load of washing. There was an iron and ironing table available as needed. TV in the room and lounge too. The shower/ toilet was nice and looks updated.

New ZealandThe room's main air conditioning was ineffective so they use a portable air-con unit with ducting duct-taped to a vent in the ceiling. When we arrived the vent had fallen apart so the room was extremely hot, but we got them to come and fix this. The portable air-con unit barely kept the room at a comfortable temperature, even when left on while we were out. There was no secure storage for bags - these had to be left in a cart in the lobby. We didn't feel comfortable leaving our bags there after checkout so we paid for a locker at the Intercity terminal instead. Our room was on the second floor on the side of the building. We could see the Sky Tower but kept the curtains closed most of the time because the room looked onto apartments opposite the building. The windows couldn't open so these was no escape for the heat other than the aircon unit. In general the apartment was dated and behind on maintenance - e.g.: the kitchen tap leaked water over the benchtop too.

CanadaIt is located across from a mission and there are lots if street people. While walking to the hotel, there was a man peeing on the sidewalk and had to step over the pee as it was running down the sidewalk. The apartment was run down with stains and torn couch, dents in the fridge and old carpeting which made it not feel clean. The front staff was polite but not interested in giving any detailed information, just short flippant answers. Breakfast was an extra charge which i thought was included. On the elevator another guest could not put together a sentence without using the “f” word. We were booked for 3 nights but left after the first night even though it was un refundable.

New ZealandThe WIFI was shockingly bad. The worst I have experienced in a very long time. It felt like dial up. In this day and age in a city apartment (that would definitely be able to get fibre), the WIFI should not be as bad as it was. I would not recommend if anybody needed to do business here. I ended up having to use phone data. The carpeting (in apartment and hallways) was very tired looking. Unable to open a window.
Bed was very comfy. Room was clean. Location to city was OK. Close to small supermarket and sandwich shop (Subway). Although not required, having a washer & dryer in room is good.

New ZealandThe apartment could not be cooled by the air con unit. The bedroom was very hot. The location is opposite a homeless shelter and we felt very unsafe leaving and arriving to the property.

United StatesThe only down sides was the air conditioning as the thermostat's lowest setting was 18C (64.4F) the apartment NEVER GOT CLOSE TO THAT!!! The apartment was constantly between 25C (77F) to 30C (86F), this was very uncomfortable and when we did laundry the temperature went up to 32.2C (90F), I know these temperatures are accurate as I have a thermometer built into my clock and I know it's accurate. We notified James of the problem he said he would report the problem to housekeeping so it could be fixed (this was on 1 one, day 5 nothing), it's the end of our stay and nothing has been done except when we returned from our day out housekeeping had turned on the fan in the bedroom, blowing hot air around a SEALED apartment does not make it any cooler!!! We even left the curtains closed the entire time we were here to keep out the sun and its associated heat. This one thing definitely made our stay uncomfortable and ruined our experience.
Our pre-stay communications with Eric Pao Yu Chou/Ben Ya Kun Cai (manager) were excellent, he was very helpful, we paid for the night before so when we arrived a 8am as the desk opened up we could check in and upon arrival everything was as we planned. Our stay at Quest on Hobson apartment rental was a decent sized 1 bedroom, with a kitchenette, washer & dryer, and a nice bathroom with a very roomy shower. The sitting area was ample, the internet was ok but not fast enough to keep the TV operating properly as it kept kicking us out due to lost connection. The front desk associate James took excellent care of us as well and definitely helped make 5 day stay stay go smoothly. Lastly, our cruise ship was having issues so we could not check-in until 2 so they did let us extend our stay until 2 (for a cost of $95NZD) until it was time to go to our cruise, the price was the price and it helped ease our last day stress of what to do for 4hr’s if we had to check out at 10am.
