It is evident the hosts are very keen to provide guests with a comfortable and friendly stay. For context, my preference is to stay somewhere anonymous like a hotel/motel, ie, I prefer not to interact with hosts because I'm introvert and not comfortable feeling I'm intruding on their space. This accommodation is very much a family home so for guests who like to be sociable you should enjoy it. That said, for those who want to keep private I don't think the hosts would be overbearing or intrusive. Unlike some owners who perhaps provide a service as much to have social contact as to generate income, it wasn't my impression that's the service model. For people who are concerned about safety, the bonus of staying here is you know there's someone on site who is very accessible. For overseas/out of town travellers I'm sure the hosts would be very happy to assist with advice about the locality. The bed was very comfortable for me and I really appreciated the balcony with the view. Wifi was excellent and having Netflix and YouTube was great. There was a random, sharp "ping" noise that continued thru into the evening. I suspect it was metal roof cooling (?)

The hosts are super nice and very personable. The room was very comfortable and the shower ran hot. The bed was great. First decent night's sleep I'd had in days.

Andy and Daisy are incredibly friendly hosts and the room we stayed in was nice and cozy. Parking in the driveway and free street parking made things easy for us as well.

A previous guest had removed the plug for bathroom sink so washing / shaving was a little harder to perform.

I only booked an hour beforehand so it wasn’t surprising that when I arrived, the host (Andy) was not expecting me. No problem; despite enjoying a large family feast / party to celebrate his son going off to university, I was quickly shown to my room . . . which did indeed, have wonderful views across the bay and of the Auckland SkyTower. The room was pretty large with an en-suite bathroom and a large walk-in wardrobe. Although I was sharing the kitchen with the family, it never felt awkward and where the guests cutlery, crockery, glassware, etc. was kept was all clearly marked.

The bed sheets and duvet are incredibly soft and comfortable, making the stay very cozy. The room is decorated in a resort-like style, which adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The bathroom and shower area are separate, making it super convenient.

The place is a bit far from the center (although there is a ferry that takes you close to Auckland CBD) and the shared bathroom and toilets were a bit unusual (the wall was not going up to the ceiling between them) for me!

Bed was super comfortable, the area was quiet and the views are stunning! Andy was super friendly and accomodating when I had to change my stay’s dates!
