Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaWe really enjoyed some aspects of this stay but I do think it would be better to come before or after Ramadan. And although we were comfortable from late afternoon to early morning as there was a breeze, this camp is basic in terms of amenities. No air-conditioning during the day might be uncomfortable, there's no electrical (so no charging your phones etc; no lights in the huts, etc). Bathrooms are separate from the little huts, and the beds were very simple. The food was very good, our host in the morning was lovely and funny and interesting. We enjoyed our stay but, you need to know what the stay is like.

CroatiaAll perfect.
We loved every moment of our stay, from the seamless pre-arrival communication and warm welcome to the thoughtful guidance on driving in the desert. The hosts take care of everything, including deflating your tires, before leading you in a convoy with other guests to the camp. This is a truly one of a kind experience at the first authentic Bedouin camp ever established. The host family, who have lived in the area for generations, offer a genuine glimpse into their way of life. We also booked the one hour sunset tour, which we highly recommend. Out of all the places we stayed during our Oman trip, this was by far the most unforgettable.

FranceNothing really. Just few suggestions to improve further… 1/ more comments on the environment and life in the désert during camel ride; 2/ traditional music during dinner / evening to bring even more authenticity and friendly atmosphere. Price for camel ride is quite a luxury, yet I do not regret the experience.
Great desert experience as a family, lovely 2-hour camel ride, early wake-up for sunset, very friendly staff, comfortable night, good dinner and breakfast

SwitzerlandThe camp was very welcoming, comfortable and cosy. We arrived in the late afternoon, in time to join a ten minute walk to see the sunset from the dunes nearby, with dates and coffee. All the staff was very kind and accommodating. The food at dinner and breakfast, buffet style, was plentiful and delicious. The huts are cleverly built to let a breeze come through. Each individual hut feels private, but you can also enjoy the communal area and fire pit throughout the day. The shared facilities (toilet, sinks and showers) are clean and not busy (good ratio for the number of guests). You can book activities with the camp, such as camel walks. There was good communication with the camp ahead of time to arrange transfers to/from the camp. We highly recommend stopping there for a night to discover life in the desert.

AustraliaA beautiful camp in a beautiful location. If you're looking to go quad biking and other obnoxious activities this isn't the place for you. Abdullah and his team run an authentic camp oasis in the dunes, with delicious food and copious amounts of coffee and dates. The sunrise camel ride was fantastic and is a must do. The camp staff are the loveliest people you will meet in Oman and they also have the best sense of humour. If you're looking to experience the desert properly then this is the place for you.

United StatesThe owners of the camp are some of the nicest, most genuine people you will meet in Oman. They are real Bedouin family and interact with the guests daily to ensure you have a good time. They made me feel so comfortable as a solo female traveler.

AustriaFrom my point of view quite overpriced. Nearly 500 EUR for two people for a night in a very basic tent with two hours camel ride and 18 km transfer to the camp feels to me not as good value for money
A very nice and quite camp in the dessert, run by two friendly Bedouin brothers

LuxembourgPerfect organisation and a great location deep in the desert. Very sustainable setting, great, easy and beautiful huts, very little light in the night, which we liked a lot, all very clean. Humied was a very welcoming host, explained many desert facts and made us a sweet little picnic between the camels with fresh karak and dates in the sunset in the desert. We loved his very well kept camels, friendly and strong! We like to warmly recommend this camp!

United StatesOman is building luxury resorts in high speed, destroying the very quietness and beauty it has to offer and one travels to for that experience. The desert camp gotten crowded by one of those developments, destroying the silence with jeeps roaming around the desert at night, and floodlights for the camp looking like a football field, compromising the stargazing. This is a criticism of the country, not the camp.
The huts are beautiful and kept simple and authentic. The shower and toilets feature "night sky views". The family is nice, especially Sultan who we did a whole day Camel Safari with. That was a great experience.

GermanyThe place is great, simple, clean and with detail. You can really relax and enjoy the atmosphere in the desert. Our guide was perfect, he answered all our questions, he was funny, helpful and interested in everyone. Thanks so much for your hospitality, we really had a wonderful time. The food was also good and the ginger tea was my little highlight 😉 100% recommend staying at the nomadic desert camp if you are looking for a more traditional and personal place.

ItalyThe only thing we would have appreciated during our activities is to receive more information regarding the desert and the bedouin life, we found that was a missed opportunity. Other than that it's a 10/10
The camp is located not too close from the nearest village, offering an immersive desert experience. The tents are spacious, clean and nicely decorated and so is the dining area. The staff is helpful, kind and efficient and agreeing pick up was really easy. The buffet was generous with a good and tasty selection of food. The camp offers activities like camel riding and dune safari. We enjoyed both very much. The greatest plus of this camp is that, compared to other structures who might have more of a hotel feel, gives the travellers a authentic and close to nature experience. We would go back and we will recommend it to family and friends.

BelgiumExtraordinary camp, with amazing hosts. Highly recommended! It is a family ran camp, one of the first to open in the area. It is ran by two really hospitable brothers with a great sense of humour, who made sure we had an amazing stay with our two year old. The camp provides a really authentic experience, where the guests can enjoy the starry sky in complete silence while still being comfortable in an impeccably clean camp. The camp is located at a good distance in the desert, unlike some of the camps that we saw along the way which were really close to the road and from where you could hear the traffic. We had a sunset ride in the dunes and a camel ride in the morning, and our hosts made sure our little one can join and enjoy himself. They also provided a baby cot and yummy food.
