Rashid’s Desert Camp was the highlight of our entire Oman trip. While everything from location to tent facilities to food arrangements to hospitality was absolutely top notch, the highlight for my husband & I was Mr Rashid. He ensured that we experienced Omani hospitality at its best. He’s a gem of a person & made sure everything was taken care of. We can’t wait to be back. It was a 10/10 experience for us and we cannot wait to be back to experience Mr Rashid’s Desert camp magic under a million stars ! The location of the tents is further into the desert than most others. The views can only be described as breathtaking. The tents themselves are huge and comfortable with a lot of distance inbetween. The food was exceptionally tasty, abundant and carefully prepared. The rides towards and back from the desert were perfect with a large and comfortable 4x4. Service levels were equally great. The whole experience was fantastic from any point of view but it was the interaction with Rashid which made this the highlight of our Oman trip. We feel blessed to have met him. There is no doubt in my mind that we are returning to this unique corner of the world.

Location was perfect, deep into desert, away from other camps. Rashid made our stay unforgettable. He took care of our needs from the moment we arrived until our departure. We really enjoyed dune bashing with him at sunset and then we had very delicious Omani dinner. Highly recommend if you are looking for a unique experience.

Best. Rashid is the best!! Everything was perfected. Dinner and breakfast was also amazing. And tent was sooooo luxury, big and comfortable. Do not be afraid about direction into camp, you will have a meeting (in meeting point, which is not in desert) with Rashid. If you have a 4x4 car, you will follow another car. Before entering into desert, they will help you with tires, also if you will come back from desert, they will again help you with tires. If you have 2x2 car, they will take you into desert with 4x4 (for some fee). Please, all book dunes bashing and sunset trip, it is amazing fun.

Everything just great!

It was easy to find the meeting point, where you can leave your car in the shadow (if it’s not 4x4) and easy to contact Rashid or his daughter, they both speak good English and reply fast. Rashid took us to the camp in his car and the ride itself was incredible, as the camp is located deep in the desert (and as budget travelers we enjoyed that the price for the transfer was a bit lower than in many other camps). Inside the camp you can’t ask for more, the tent is really spacious and nicely decorated, there are these little details as some spare chairs in the tent and outside too, so you can enjoy the views from the terrace, big fresh clean towels, additional blankets if you feel cold during the night and the bed itself is extremely comfortable! There is a private bathroom in the tent, which is impeccable, even for taking the shower, the water pressure is fine. The location of the camp is really perfect, as we made a big research before booking it and in the end stayed completely satisfied. Perfect spot for photographers, as you can’t see other camps around (except for one, but pretty far away) and the dunes are just right there. Rashid is a great man and treats his guests as friends, he can make you a good company and feels if you want to stay alone. During our stay we were offered fruits, coffee, tea and some other snacks, that we didn’t expect. And the fire in the night was just great. Highly recommend to stay for at least 2 days.

Nothing, everything was perfect

Rashid is a very friendly and communicative owner who has previous experience with desert camp so he knows how to run his new business. The tents are huuuge and well-equipped, very comfortable bed, nice balcony in the shadow - perfect to relax, delicious breakfast, descent bathroom. The location is perfect- beautiful dunes around, deep in the desert. The camp consists only of 4 tents which are far away from each other - which gives you privacy. If you want to spend an authentic night on the desert, away from the mainstream entertainment this camp is perfect. Great value for money! Additional fees (for transport, or breakfast/dinner) are much below the average price in comparison to other camps. Thank you Rashid for this amazing experience!

Rashids Private Camp is truly exceptional - the camp is amazing, very small, in the middle of the dunes, no other camps around, very comfortable beds and big tents...Samils cooking is one of the best we had so far and exceeds any five star hotel cuisine! Rashid is the perfect host, very friendly and entertaining - he even took us to his barber the next day. The drive into the desert was a lot of fun. Overall: You couldn't wish for more, a real treasure!

Best thing about the camp was the owner Mr Rashid himself ... he was caring towards all people right from pickup til drop and not to forget the awesome sand dunes he did for us .... 3 cheers to Mr rashid All the best Mr Rashid for your future endeavors cheers

Nothing at all!

Rachids Dessert Camp exists of 5 Tents which are very spacious and not to close together. The drive to the camp is about 20 minutes which is already worth booking the accommodation in first place. We loved our driver Ali who also took us dune bashing - do not miss this! The food was amazing and when Rachid brought us back the next day he even made time to go to the camels we spotted. For us the stay in this camp was one of the many highlights of our trip to Oman.

This place and Rashid are absolutely great! Camp is far from the city and other camps, so it's ideal location to enjoy the desrt in silence and calmness. The bed inside the tent is very comfortable I really didn't expect such comfortable conditions right in the middle of nowhere. Rashid provides such a great service, for small charge you can get big and tasty dinner and breakfast, transfer to the camp by Rashid on his car and riding at the desert with him. Riding the sand dunes at the sunrise is stunning feeling, you surely have to try it. In short, spending night in the desert is the great experience and Rashid makes it even better!

We could only stay one night :(

Rashid is an amazing host as to be expected. You will feel that amazing omani hospitality in a beautiful desert scenery. The experience is worth every penny. After you have made a booking, they will send you a pick up location where Rashid himself will pick you up and transfer to his camp (so you don’t need a 4x4car). Every tent has a bathroom so there is privacy. You don’t need to worry about insects as the tents are built above the ground.

The bathroom was basic.The toilet cistern cover was broken and fixed with silicone.

Fantastic to be in the desert straight after a long flight. The food was good.The trip out with Muhammad was excellent . loved seeing the scorpions under UV light at night. Good place to look at stars The owner is very friendly and helpfull

Good hospitality, great host, and lovely service. Loved dunes bashing in a jeep. Rashid and his team were welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

Rashid is doing everything to make sure you have a wonderful stay ! The tent is very nice and the diner was delicious. We definitely recommend this camp if you're looking for an authentic stay and a more than nice host !
