Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe pool and hot tub are located indoors. The hot tub was not functioning for 1.5 days during my 3 night stay. The pool is very cool due to it not getting any sun and the cool temperatures in Boquete. The hostel is located about kilometer away from the main road that takes you to central Boquete which is another 2 kilometers away.
A beautiful, well-maintained hostel with friendly and helpful staff. Beds are comfortable and have curtains, a storage shelf, 2 electrical outlets, a reading light and an adjustable fan to provide privacy in the dorm room. The grounds are very attractive and the views of the volcano and surrounding area are very impressive. It is common to see a rainbow in the late afternoon. The staff provides nightly activities for patrons who are looking for shared activities with other guests.

NetherlandsIn our opinion some of the staff was not that friendly/happy. Made us a bit hesitant to ask questions or recommendations since some replied very shortly. Not a big issue, but not what we were used to compared with other hotels.
Nice place to stay, we had the hobbit house which had a lot of space and nice shower. Rooms were clean and walk to town is not that bad when you enjoy walking.

GermanyThe staff was really nice. The castle itself is an amazing place and the views are awesome. The food in the restaurant was good. The included breakfast was everything we could wish for. Although, there were some bugs and hair in the room and unfortunately our toilet was clocked and the room was flooded. But the staff was really helpful at all times!

Panamathe food is expensive, the social area is too small,
the most amazing thing about Bambuda castle is the view, you can see the whole mountains with the clouds above them, its location allows the wind to always flow around so it doesn't matter if it is day or night the weather is so nice.

Denmarkits a 45 minute walk from the Boquete town. 3-5 dollar taxifare to/from the town. you can walk 15 minutes and catch an infrequent bus. So you spend quite a bit of time at the castle - unfortunately the food in the restaurant is not very good. I would not choose this place again.
great view

Germanyif you don’t have a car and wanna go in the city for dinner, it’s a little bit far. but for trips they take care that you get picked up and everything, so no worries about that. they just have one person at the bar so at busy times you wait quite a while for your drinks, but they are really tasty. pool is not heated - I think that’s good climate wise but would be good to know in beforehand;) I don’t know about the other rooms, we just had a fan with one speed option which was either too cold or too hot (turning it off) but honestly, one can deal with that - the view is worth it.
nice place, very clean, tasty drinks, amazing view, good food, they really want you to have a good time there. there are a lot of offers so if you’re traveling alone and feel like you wanna connect with people, that’s the place to go to. we didn’t feel like that - and that’s possible too, so you can choose what I think is really good. the food was really tasty too :-)

CanadaAir conditioning in the unit would have made for a 10x more comfortable sleep. Super hot in there and even with windows open the wind sounds were more disruptive to a sleep than helpful in cooling.

United StatesThe pool is a great pool but the temperature was more suited for polar bears and penguins. Also, the bartenders either didn't know how to make cocktails or were out of ingredients.
The view and the walk down for exercise. The food was good, front desk was friendly and the place was interesting.
