How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The window was broken and poorly repaired, so the noise was sometimes quite loud at night.The mattresses are not the newest. The staff answered our questions briefly, nothing more.
We had a good time in Panama City with our two kids. The hotel is in the middle of the Casco Viejo, with a lots of restaurants near by. There was a main kitchen which we used for Breakfast and the coffee was for free.

The AC was as loud as a drilling machine the whole night and blasting cold air making sleeping due to noise and temperature fairly impossible (and I usually have great sleep)
The location! And the bed was very comfy! The whole building has a nice flair. The bathrooms were clean and nice.

No curtains in the bunk beds, the bunk bed was very shaky and I could feel every movement of the person below me. My dorm specifically was located right by the kitchen area and it constantly smelled like food, but not in a good way. Walking the hostel street at dark after dinner, felt a bit unsafe to me as a solo female. Maybe it was just a one time occasion and doesn’t happen normally, but there were people in the street that were unpleasant
Central location in Casco Viejo, easy to reach many places from there. The staff were friendly and helpful. They let you store your belongings in a guarded room if you arrive before check in time. The showers and toilets are in separate rooms which is good so you don’t have to wait much for either.

Beds are comfortable, but I requested not a top bunk, and I got a top bunk. Staff was helpful in directions to places. Free tour and guide was very informative and was able to set up other tours. Location was perfect

The location is in the middle of Casco Viejo, cannot be better than this. The building is beautiful and inside the rooms (dorms) are nice and with AC. The kitchen is great and well equipped with free coffee and drinking water. The small balcony is nice to relax.

can be increased in the number of toilets
Very convenient location in the old town. Many cafes and restaurants nearby. Very close to fish market Mercado De Marisco and to Cinta Costera. Beautiful building, high walls and ceilings, everything looks expensive and pleasant. Everywhere clean, lots of showers. I slept in the common room for 6 people. It was comfortable. Bed is clean, air conditioning works. There are lockers in the room. The kitchen is very large, many people work there, have all the facilities to cook for yourself. You can eat with a beautiful view of the balcony.

Airconditioning was ridiculously loud. Complete absence of air extraction in the bathroom, which meant the entire room was damp after a shower. Staff is so uninterested in the guests its basically rude.
Good location in Casco Viejo. Comfortable bed.

Noisy. First floor room. Unpleasant odor -went away with AC on (which was noisy). No blankets were provided.
