ColombiaTo expensive to get there and it didn’t feel clean. The floors were sticky, the towels didn’t feel fresh, the furniture is old and don’t look well cleaned. The food in the buffets isn’t well presented, it doesn’t look appealing.

Asked for a quiet room and they put us next to the night entertainment auditorium. To rub salt in wound - they charge $25 pp for late check out (no room).

United StatesThe food was exceptionally disappointing. Fruit was not ripe or tasty, limited selection for vegetarians. The food lacked flavor. The restaurants have the same menu every night. The salad bar lacks variety. The alcohol brands are cheap.
I liked the entertainment offered, definitely something for all ages. Liked the watersports offered and the convenience of everything on one property. The coffee was good.

LatviaAnother staff don't care, they make faces, when I need something: on breakfasts always were not enough something, waiters were rude, I was waiting coffee for half an hour. And especially horrible was horse shit and annoying drug dealers on the beach. Impossible to walk there or to swim. Swimming pool is 1 m deep, no swimming also... Food choice are not the best, except special restaurants. All drinks with ice and no straws (I have sensible teeth and it's total discrimination). And I am solo traveler, so for me was nothing to do, most of entertainment is for families or middle aged people, a lot of kids. P.s. no hair conditioner, despite it was mentioned in booking
Cleaning service was good, rooms are spacious, supervisor Crystel was very kind and helped me, dance show was interesting (Noel is one love). Massage spa was also cool.

GermanyWe had a big issue with noise at night- entertainment was extremely loud, sometimes till 0:00, it was very hard for kids to fall asleep. I understand that the building is quite old, that’s why the isolation is very poor. Also the rooms are a bit smelly- the closets and the drawers.
I can praise staff and management- attentive, polite, friendly, and respectful. The beach area is nice and clean. Kids loved children’s pool and activities. The Buffet on some days was really good and on 2 days mediocre.

The breakfast was buffet style with a made-to-order egg station. The deli meat and cheese section was not cooled and the effects of the heat were taking their toll on the cheese.

United StatesI wish they had more selection of beer, maybe some imports would have been nice. The Balboa beer is okay just wasn't my favorite but it was free so can't complain too much on that.
I came here for my 30th birthday and the Riu Playa Blanca made it an amazing time! I will start with getting to the resort, coming from USA you have to fly into PYT(Panama City Airport) this is a 2 hour drive from the resort so keep that in mind when booking. Check in was fast and easy, they had even upgraded my room from a garden view to the beach view with a balcony, the room was clean and large enough where we could easily move around and had plenty of closet space for my bags. When we first got there the mini bar was empty but I put in a request through the app and it was there early the next morning. Let's move on to the food, everything I had tasted amazing, from the buffet to the specialty restaurants. Little tip the steakhouse has a buffet for lunch and its located beside the slides, its not in the actual hotel part. As far as the staff a lot of them went above and beyond to help with whatever we needed, there are a select FEW that you could tell were not okay with Americans and helped us after a long wait or didn't help at all.. Like I said these are VERY FEW, everyone else was amazing. Lets move on to the beach, depending on when you go the beach could look muddy but this is because of the mix of black sand on the beach, there are a few guys on horses riding around the front of the beach and they can be pushy, they do not work for the hotel. We tried turning them down at first and they are persistent but I will tell you that the ride is beautiful and they an take you to an amazing look out spot down the beach and its not very expensive but make sure you agree on the price before hand. We did our rides through Julio Jose there on the beach, this man can take some good photos with your phone! He also went out extra for us and got us some coconuts and mangos on our last day there. If you go ahead and do the ride at the beginning of the week they will leave you alone for the rest of the time.
