Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy room was cold. I thought it was quite expensive and didn’t include a free breakfast, which in reality it should have for the price. The breakfast looked very basic anyway. The staff were fine but less friendly than other hostels I’ve stayed in.
Was in a fairly central location. I booked a double room and it was massive.

United StatesRude staff and loud people. Not the cool kind of loud people, but the kind that keep their phones on loud and unaware of others.

GermanyWe stayed here two times, once in a dorm and once we booked a private room. When we arrived the second time they told us that our room got double booked but they can offer us another room, which we took. But this was obviously a single bedroom!

NetherlandsThe floors are from wood and make a lot of noise. it is annoying in the evening and early in the morning.
Close to the centre, it is a short walk. The showers are hot. Private rooms are an okay size.

CanadaProbably the rudest and most unhelpful person at the front desk. Very disappointed. Other staff seemed to be better and smiling but unfortunately we had the same lady most of our stay which seemed to be hating life and didn’t want to help at all. It’s also allowed to smoke inside the main common area which makes the whole place smell like cigarettes. I can’t believe it’s still allowed. There’s about 4 toilets in the whole place so if you have a shared bathroon be ready for it not to be very clean. Atmosphere in the hostel is none it’s a quiet place to rest. Also don’t book your tours here as they are more expensive than anything else you find in the street.
It’s in a good location and room was comfortable.

GermanyEven in the private rooms the toilets were really smelly and staff wasn’t able or willing to solve the problem. Plus 6% markup for credit card payment is just not fair! The breakfast isn’t really nice but okay compared to the price.

United KingdomThe room was quiet, but the sound from the communal area was occasionally invasive, especially for me, the drum-beat was all I could hear of whatever music they were playing, which unfortunately was only ever pop music, which I can hear 24/7 everywhere else on the planet, and led me to wear ear-plugs to try to get away from it, sometimes for hours all afternoon & evening. I'm hoping they will start to explore WORLD MUSIC, which is much more creative and interesting (I don't mean Folk Music, which I like too). Check out Spotify for that!!!
I’m so happy I chose Dragonfly! It is a Hostel, so all ages were there, and generally they quietened down after 11pm. I chose to have the double-room with ensuite, which was so perfect for me. I could stay in my “little cave” if I wasn’t feeling so good. Then the staff always chatted with me, and went out of their way to help me sort out smaller problems, like the internet, or pick-ups in early morning, or finding a particular shop in the town. 2 things were sorted before I first arrived, which was also “beyond their remit” – I requested a taxi from the airport, to have an Oxygen cylinder in it + they put me on the Ground Floor, so I didn’t have extra climbing to my room. Both were sorted in a very compassionate way. Waldir the manager was excellent, (as were Diego and Veronika) and his extra English was also very helpful. The kitchen staff (Flavio) were also a delight to see in the mornings for breakfast etc.

SwitzerlandWe were asked if we wanted to get picked up at the airport, to which we replied “yes”, but no one ended up picking us up and we had to get an Uber. Our room smelled of sewage. This smell came from the bathroom and the staff was only able to fix it temporarily. There was no hot water in the evening and sometimes neither in the morning. Some of the staff treat this hostel as their own little hang out place and watch movies until 11pm on loudspeaker. I’m sure most guests would have appreciated it if they were quieter as I’m sure most guest went to bed at 8-9pm after a long day. This was also an issue at breakfast, and pretty much throughout the whole day…. unprofessional. A large gap under the door lead to the room getting fairly cold at night. Bring warm clothes in any case.
The location was great, really close to the main square and in the center of cusco. It was clean and everytime we had a question the staff has willing to help quickly.

United StatesI stayed in dragonfly for a few days during new years eve, and I loved it. I loved the staff, the people in there, the breakfast, the bed, the bathroom was clean and specially the receptionist Kathe made my stay very funny. She was very nice, helpful, and if I needed something she would help me with anything. On my last day I was ready to check out and she showed me the Dragonfly t-shirt and I bought it to keep a nice souvenir of this hostel that I will always remember. Special thanks to Kathe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

CanadaFirst hot shower in a week, this location exceded my expectations, no criticisms come to mind.
I can't belive how cool the vibe was, the staff were super friendly and open, Christian Robles did a spanish class for beginners and it was engaging and fun, not dry and boring. He also went out of his way to show me a bit of Cusco nightlife. For how cheap the room is, you get waaay more than what u pay for, compared to my experiences with other hostels and air b n bs. I will be def staying at the Lima location when I'm there, and definitely will reccomend the DragonFly to all my friends and anyone who asks where there should stay in Cusco. Well done team 👏
