Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaThe double bed was way too soft for my back. Sometimes, it was actually rather noisy outside during the night (street traffic, seagulls, etc.) The view from the only room window was not to everyone's taste, to say the least. But this can be fixed over time. Frankly, the best place with windows in the house was the public area in the reception lobby furnished with a couple of cozy armchairs. There were also several comfortable sockets close to the armchairs and two dining tables for guests in the lobby.
Receptionist Edith provided me with everything I needed. She was always willing to go an extra mile to leave me satisfied. My room was spacious enough. The hot shower worked well. The kitchenette in the reception lobby upstairs was very practical and always clean. They have lots of cutlery and silverware, you only need to ask Edith. There was a big fridge in the lobby and I had a smaller one in my room, which was very convenient. They changed my linen and cleaned my room every time I asked them to, The quality of linen was good. The cable TV in my room was excellent, with several English and French-language channels, including sports. Location was quite good for me, as I love city walks, and Lima Miraflores is definitely worth visiting if you like city adventure, shopping and variety in architecture. The area is one of the safest in the city. I could walk the streets of Miraflores all day. The Hospedaje Schell guesthouse is really close to the best beaches in town, too.

Receptionist Edith provided me with everything I needed. She has all it takes to be a nice hospitality manager. My room was spacious enough. The hot shower worked well. The kitchenette they have in the reception lobby upstairs is very practical and tidy. They have lots of cutlery and silverware, you only need to ask Edith of her substitute. There was a big fridge in the lobby and I had a smaller one in my room, which was very convenient. They changed my linen and cleaned my room every time I asked them to, The quality of linen was good. The cable TV in my room was excellent, with several English and French-language channels, including sports. Location was quite good for me, as I like walking around central parts of towns, and Lima Miraflores is definitely worth visiting if you like city walks and variety in architecture. The area is one of the safest in the city. I could walk the streets of Miraflores all day. The Schell Hospedaje guesthouse is really close to the best beaches in town, too. Lima Miraflores also boasts a dozen of good places to eat out, including ones serving Chinese and Arabic cuisine, and a couple of Irish pubs, where you can have some proper 'pub food' and try various local and international bestselling cocktails (but there are actually much more places to go for a fish and chips dinner in the district).

United KingdomNo front door key You had to buzz to get in One time I was stuck outside for over 40 mins. I only got in because I looked the number up on booking.com and sent a WhatsApp message. It said laundry facilities but I was told no water available. It was half the price at the launderette anyway. It also said aircon. There was a fan. Which wasn't very good.
Room was clean and comfortable Great location

IrelandReceptionist didn't speak English AT ALL and didn't bother to use translator! The room/place looks nothing like the photos shown, the whole place is a bit run down! However to be fair, the price is cheap so you get what you pay for.

CanadaAlthough I'm sure the rooms are cleaned adequately, all the furniture, carpets, walls etc., show their wear and tear. For example, carpets in my room had lots of stains. Also, the fan was very loud but it did not bother me too much.
I only spent one night here but considering the location and average costs of rooms in the area, the price is fair. It is close to a big central park, stores and restaurants. The staff was helpful in booking and early taxi to the airport.

United KingdomI stayed in a single room the 1st night and then decided to stay for a 2nd night but only a double room was available even though I was on my own. So price was now $30 instead of $15. So I left. Then looked on booking and it was $22 so booked it and went back. No apology. Was told it is just the way it is. Left me feeling like I was being mislead. Room was bigger so no problem.
Good basic place. Good location. Close to busy street with tourist park area nearby.

United KingdomYou get what you pay for and for about 20 dollars the room was basic but clean and comfy. I stayed a 2nd night in a bigger room, it was that good.
The location is fantastic. Short walk from the tourist area with bars and resturants. Good atmosphere. Lots of cheap eating places here too.

GermanyYou get what you pay for. The room was covered with a carpet that urgently needed to be renewed, facilities were old.
Location and quietness of the place. My windowless room had an odd set-up, though. There were two balcony chairs and a glass table on a kind of podest, guess it's supposed to be used for eating?

United StatesThe staff were really pushy about check in time. They seemed annoyed that they had to wait up to check us in when our bus was later than expected due to traffic. The room was super hot with no windows and one small insufficient fan. No hot water.
It was fine for the amount we paid since we we only there to sleep one night.
