How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Great location just around the corner and you are in the Main Square. Edwin was to helpful arranging taxis and given us lots of information. Hotel was beautifully decorated and so clean. A must to stay at.

Our stay at Kokoa was a nice relaxing getaway after our hike up Wynapichu. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and freshly prepared, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They let us check in early since our train arrived prior to check in time, and even allowed us to store our bags after check out while we walked around the town our last day prior to our train leaving. Would recommend to anyone staying in Agues Calientes.

There werent any heaters so the floors are cold. Bring slippers and sleep with a sweater if you need to.
Friendly and accomodating staff. Clean common space and nice rooms with lots of storage. Would stay again.

The hotel was stylish with nice bedding and towels. All round just great value for the price.

Location, the design of the hotel, rooms.
I love this boutique Hotel! It is beautiful design. The location is perfect. Right in the centre, but, on a side street so quiet. Walking distance to the cities great restaurants and centre. friendly staff. I look forward to staying there again. Highly recommend it. Love my stay there!

Excellent location 2 mins from the main square. The hotel administrator Edwin was extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast is good and includes eggs, fruits, bread and different kinds of juice.

We stayed in a ground floor room, so the noise from the street during the night was a bit annoying.
The hotel looks brand new. Rooms are pretty, have great storage facilities, shower is perfect. Breakfast was fresh and adequate.

The bed was a bit hard to my liking but thats not a big deal.
Hotel and room we stayed are very clean. Exactly as the picture. Location is close to the centre, and located in a quite alley. I like everything from decoration, stylist hotel and clean. The staff were very helpful and understanding, we were able to store our luggage when we need to go up Machu Picchu. Breakfast is good.

The location was awesome! Everything was walking distance. The staff was amazing and helpful also. we had the family room with 2 full size beds and a bunk bed. Stephanie was the first and last beautiful, smiling face we saw at the hotel. She booked our taxi to go back to the hotel. We will miss her! Thank you Kokoa Hotel Cusco!

Wonderful little hotel in the heart of Cusco. We really enjoyed our stay including the breakfast, the room was so comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. We had tea every day and the room had a cute nook to read a book with a small courtyard view.

Adorable hotel located in a perfect location, right near the plaza de armas. Rooms were clean, breakfast was delicious. One of the best showers I've had in my life. Hot coca/muna tea was available for free all hours of the day. Staff was very kind and helpful.

the location is a love/hate thing. love because it’s so close to the Plaza, but hate because it’s right in the Party Street and Cusco never sleeps apparently.

This petite hotel is AMAZING. The crew is very supportive and friendly, we had out breakfast lunch ready everyday, help us to get taxi for reasonable prices and overall the aesthetic is beautiful Very modern, but you will receive a lot more for your money.
