AustriaFor the money payed, I was expecting to feel that "I am speciall cared for". This was not the case. On one evening, I waited more than an hour between the starter and the main course, although I had the offered menu. Then half an hour for the desert. Next evening was a buffet, with excellent salads, but the some of the baked food was only lukewarm. The bread was never fresh. The room was cleaned only quite late in the afternoon, minibar was not refilled,
The bungalow on the water was really nice and spacious. One could go swimming and snorkeling at any time of the day or night from the room. The facilities were very good. The reception was also very helpful. The breakfast was very rich.

United StatesTired property. Lots of repairs and renovations going on which make noise but don’t really improve the experience. Breakfast was fine but something made us sick. Pool too small for property. Extremely slow check in and check out. Barrios had plumbing issues. View in OWB was basically of neighbor—little or no privacy in most over water rooms.
Dinner was nice and the snorkeling was great. Very attractive guests.

CanadaThe biggest letdown is that there’s no fitness center. Also, the resort seems very limiting in terms of activities available on site. Lastly, the food was very underwhelming. There were very few options for vegetarian and/or vegan diets, and the other options I tried left me wanting me more, especially for the price.
I enjoyed staying in the overwater bungalow. It was extremely convenient for snorkeling and swimming right outside of our room. It was fairly spacious and kept clean throughout our stay. The minibar was kept stocked with complimentary soda, water, and beer, which was a huge bonus because drinks outside the room are extremely expensive. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I understand hotel is fully booked, we only asked for noon check out which is not unreasonable but they refused. There are other hotel options, not sure I would return.

Australia-would be good to see more signs and education for guests regarding helping to conserve the marine environment such as signs saying no feeding fish and also signs telling people not to step on the corals and how to swim around them etc .
- situated right on the lagoon, the Sofitel is in my opinion the best property on Moorea due to the location of the resort, on the pristine lagoon that has the most amazing azule waters. The design of the resort allows for the view to encompass every aspect of your stay from your room, to the bar terrace to the restaurant and the pool- all offer a panoramic feast for the eyes, that you can’t help but feel relaxed and on holiday. - we stayed in the overwater bungalow and also the ocean view villa. The water was crystal clear with an abundance of fish. Whilst the corals were not in great condition, likely due to human factors and environmental, the fish were plentiful. Snorkelling morning, noon and afternoon was a delightful way to spend the day. The beach on which the Sofitel is located is the best beach in my opinion in Moorea. There are plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas to relax and spend the day . You can also snorkel from the beach and see the stag horn corals as let the current drift you towards the Overwater bungalows. - the rooms were clean, comfortable and bed was very big and comfortable. - the buffet breakfast was also excellent with fresh pastries, egg and crepe bar and all the staff are very helpful and friendly. - The restaurant food was ok, nothing special and definitely prices are high as is in the rest of Moorea. There is not much around the Sofitel walking distance but some restaurants do offer a free pick up and drop off service .
