Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Lovely hostel with rooftop to chill, comfy beds but no privacy curtain. Staff were super helpful with trips, transfers and everything else! Slightly out of town but just a 5-10 minute walk in. Very clean room

- no curtains - No shower gel and shampoo available - Breakfast should include something more (e.g. eggs or another source of protein) - Card payment not possible - Tours relatively expensive (500php more than on the street)

Really friendly and helpful staff. Beds are comfy and room with enough space, just I wish lockers were bigger to put all backpack in there.

There is the noise of roosters during the night, and it bothered me. Maybe earplugs will help.
The location was really good, it's convenient to walk around the city center, the room is spacious, and each room has a shower and toilet. The rooftop is very pleasant and large. Each bed has 2 electrical outlets and a small night light. And it was very convenient and efficient.

A little far from the town but walkable distance and the tuk tuks were cheap so it’s not a problem.
Cleanest hostel I’ve ever been to that you could sleep in the floor. Great WiFi and the rooftop was really nice. Rooms were big and comfortable. More a chill out hostel. Good price!

I didn't have many things to dock points from Bakawan except maybe having a backup for when there's a power outage might help tremendously.
Loved my stay, however short, in Bakawan. The hostel doesn't have much capacity as far as accomodations but the beds were comfy, and the rooms were spacious and clean. The staff at reception were some of the most helpful I've met in Coron and they always had a smile on their faces. If you're looking for a quiet stay with a nice rooftop area to chill at, this hostel is right for you.

I was travelling alone and visiting Coron during the rainy season and I was basically alone in the hostel. For some people it might be an advantage, but if you are more social person this time of the year it. might be the best to stay here.
Bakawan Hostel has nice and big common area on the rooftop. It's a bit on the side of the town centre, but it's still about 5-10min. walk to the main square. Staff is super helpfull and nice.

The breakfast was very average - it was a piece of toast with peanut butter.
The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The aircon worked well. The staff were helpful.

Loved how spacious and private it was! Whenever i needed to use the bathroom it wasn’t occupied. Didn’t mind the others in the room. There are no curtains yes, but it didn’t bother me at all. Other travelers were nice and staff helpful! Also a nice upstairs place to chill.

It’s about 10mins walk to the main street with restaurants/bars.
Comfy beds, clean facilities. Great terrace with a nice view. Wifi works, hot shower. Simple breakfast with toast and peanut butter.

I would walk alone, as a woman, around the hostel when it's dark. There were not so many lights and I felt a bit scared.
It's a really nice hostel, the stuff was friendly, the beds are comfortable and you have enough space in the rooms for your luggage. Also, everyone has their own locker in the room. Also, the lounge at the rooftop is great to chill.
