Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Philippines-
During our entire stay, we were able to truly relax and enjoy a peaceful retreat. The neighborhood is serene, with little noise—no tricycles or city disturbances—making it feel like you're miles away from the hustle and bustle, yet it's only a 20-minute drive from the city. The house itself has a cozy, homely vibe. Every corner is thoughtfully designed, from the welcoming mini lobby to the comfortable sofa area. The room was not only spacious but also provided great comfort, and the Wi-Fi connection was strong throughout our stay. Though the water pressure was a bit slow in the mornings, it was still manageable and didn’t affect our overall experience. The owner was exceptionally accommodating and considerate, leaving helpful messages that made it easy to settle in and navigate the house without needing his constant presence. Overall, our stay was secure and enjoyable. This place is highly recommended for those visiting nearby attractions or anyone simply looking to unwind on vacation. It’s perfect for families, and friends. Thank you sir AJ from: Al Bencent, Ann and Mellaine

United Kingdomnot much negative to say as overall my stay was great. the only down point would be getting woken up by some annoying dogs barking in the morning but this is usual in the Philippines and beyond the host’s control

PhilippinesIt is not for all though. PWDs and Seniors might find it not easy. The rooms are on the second and third floor, while the bathroom is shared on the third floor only.
We stayed here for 2 nights. The place is safe and secured, inside a quiet and guarded subdivision. The house is homely, and you would feel like you never left home. The host is nice and very accommodating. He provided towels and toiletries, and allowed us to use his kitchen.

CanadaLocation is a bit off the center which was clear but getting transportation to the city center was harder than expected. It being during the festival certainly didn’t help but it’s a thing to keep in mind.
Great stay, AJ was a gracious host with plenty of recommendations and conversation. Rooms were very clean and well maintained. Quiet sector.

AustraliaAir-conditioner is loud. But it's not only in this place. All aircon in Cebu are loud. So I don't blame. Towel smells stink. It's clean and good quality towel but they need to use more laundry detergen or fabric softener.
Room is better than photo. It's beautiful, clean, cozy and private. Amenities are on point. Everything is convenient. Entire house is clean and well decorated. Since this is bnb house, it's a bit away from city center. But not too far away. Which I like it even more. It's in quiet and secure area. I felt safe the whole time. Address works well with grab car or delivery. But this address doesn't show up on Google map, so if you want to go back there with other transportation such as normal taxi or bike taxi, you have to know the area to guide to drivers. Bed is comfortable. Shower was pleasant with clean bathroom and good amount of water pressure. Although hot shower doesn't really work, but the weather in cebu is extremely hot, so it didn't bother me much. Owner AJ is very friendly, has good heart and good energy. I really appreciate to him. If I go back to cebu, I will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend.

We definitely loved our stay at AJ’s Haven. It was like staying at your relative’s house - Sir AJ felt like a family member. He made sure our entire stay was comfortable and he was cordial to all his guests. His house was beautiful, cozy, and squeaky clean! The place was safe because it’s inside a quiet and secluded subdivision. It was just a few minutes away from the commercial areas so staying at his place was convenient and accessible. I also love how we got to interact with the other guests and I even made friends with them. I’ll absolutely book another stay at AJ’s place when I visit Cebu City again.

PhilippinesLocation was a pro and a con. We picked it because we know it wouldn’t be loud at the area due to very low traffic on the road. Con, it’s quite a drive to get to the malls and restaurants around town. But other than the one con, there’s nothing not to like about this property!
AJ’s Haven was very ‘homey’ to us, out of all the places we’ve been, it’s the best one so far that is very comparable to what we call home. Owner AJ was also very accommodating and very easy to deal business with. It was very close by to a lot of express laundromats surprisingly— we’re a couple on a month long backpacking trip touring the Visayas region, so it’s very important to have things very accessible to us, in which this property has provided. The house and our room was extremely clean and tidy, no clutter at all. The kitchen was always clean and tidy as well during our stay which made us very happy though we didn’t get the chance to use it other than the dining table. It was equipped with a lot of the things we use back home which made us feel even more at home. The beddings were extremely comfortable!! It was like waking up to our own bed on own home. We felt safe and very comfortable on our stay, definitely a 10 out of 10.

United KingdomThere was nothing I didnt like.
A gorgeous house, fastidiously looked after by a very friendly gentleman. While the property may be a little out of the City for some, it was ideally located for my visit to family in Pardo, and a short ride is well worth it for the highest standard of accommodation I've experienced in 16 years of visiting Cebu.
