Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyBamboo huts naturally don’t provide any sound proofing. You can hear everything from outside or the neighbors, and I assume it’s the same for them. Just something to be aware of. You kind of need a scooter to get around compfortably, they conveniently rent scooters there.
Nice bamboo huts in a lush green garden. A bit off the main road and therefore quieter.

BelgiumLoved my stay here, within the trees and super friendly staff. Other backpackers also more laid back. Still at walkable distance to beach or close drive to waterfalls and other activities.

United KingdomWe had a really great time here. The hostel itself is clean, immersed in lush greenery but very close to the beach. The common area is also great, and the facilities are good. There's free water and coffee and plenty of space to relax and socialise with other travellers. The hostel is also situated in a very convenient area to explore all Siquijor has to offer. The family who own the place were extremely kind, helpful and accommodating and made us feel at home. The dorms are very basic (no curtains or much space to store things) but clean. Overall really good value for money.

United KingdomIf you are prepared to be quite tolerant of local neighbourhood noise, such as music, motorbikes and construction, you will be fine as the huts are right next to the road. Fortunately it is not too busy and nighttime is quiet. One of the shower heads needs de-scaling or replacing as barely any water comes out. But you can use the bucket instead!
I liked my cosy hut on stilts and the seating area underneath. The bed linen and towels smelt clean and fresh. The room had a small bedside lamp which made it feel cosy and atmospheric at night. I received a very warm welcome from the lady at reception who continued to be lovely and friendly throughout my stay. The other staff members were nice too. It was good to have use of the kitchen as well as free drinking water to refill my bottle.

PhilippinesTo use Bisaya, sa kasagbutan ang property. It was nice and cool. It was like glamping imo. They provided a mosquito net and an anti-mosquito plug in. The staff were very friendly, suggesting places to go and eat. Internet wad down when we were there, but globe signal was alright. We had a car and it is definitely more for people on motorcycles, but we parked on the side of the road. The neighbors were friendly — and there is a sari-sari store across if you want to buy snacks and such. The bathrooms were clean. So, big plus.

Amazing hidden gem in Siquijor. I love this hostel so much because it's very chill and peaceful since it's a little bit more into the jungle but still super near from the main road. The hostel is very cozy and makes you feel like home right away. It attracts the right type of backpackers who want to connect and meet new people in a natural way. Also the fact that they have an amazing well equipped kitchen makes the experience better. Chris was super friendly and helpful, would definitely go back if I visit Siquijor again.

United Statesit's hard to have airflow inside the room. it's ok with only the fan but also a lot of mosquitos so we have to close the windows and doors and there is just no fresh air.
the staff are super friendly and welcoming. everything is clean even surrounded by trees. It's very affordable because of its price.

PhilippinesOne important detail left out: it’s quite a walk from the main road if you don’t have a ride, and the path has barely any lighting. To make matters worse, the property isn’t fenced, so stray dogs can wander in—at one point, we were nearly attacked by a few of them.
The cozy vibe

United KingdomHonestly nothing!
My favourite hostel during my 5 months of travelling! We were only meant to stay for 4 nights and ended up staying two weeks! The island has everything you need and is such a good place to explore. The hostel accommodated to every need. Breakfast every morning was delicious and cheap! Our treehouse room was so cute and cosy! Simple but brought you back to nature. The grounds are beautiful and full with lots of wildlife! They have the friendliest and cutest dogs also. Chriszel the lady running the hostel is so kind and helpful! She made our stay even more beautiful. Good quality bikes can be hired from the hostel and cheap laundry also! Shop across the road for cold water and small snacks was also very helpful! Was very sad to leave this place but will be sure to return! Thank you for everything again ❤️

ItalyThe dorm was very nice, each bed has a fan nearby and the bathroom are outside but right in front. Nice and comfy bed and they also provide towel. The staff are very kind and help you very much with info about the island. They also offer a scooter rental service and help you if you are not a pro. If you know how to ride a motorbike the location doesn’t matter anymore.
