The owner (Nana), she was super nice. The ferry to Bohol wasn't going the next day from Oslob, so she waited with us and arranged us a bus to go to another ferry. The price is really cheap if you consider we were staying right at the Tan-awan beach, so we were the first boat to go to swim with whale sharks. It was clean 😊

I really liked how cute the accommodation was, it was like 10 meters away from the whale shark swimming experience, and the owner was very accommodating and took very good care of us.

We can definitely recommend this hostel. The location is perfect (just 50 meters to the starting point for the whale shark tours! If you book the tour from the hostel you are one of the first boats on the water), very lovely and helpful owners who organize everything for you. Spacious bungalows. All in all just perfect! Thanks, we enjoyed our stay!

This is perfect for 1 or 2 nights to do the whale shark watching. Lovely staff very accommodating too! Rooms are standard but it's not a problem... you will be up at 5am anyway! Staff wait in line for you from 3am, you arrive at 5am and you're on the first boat out in the morning... its much better as it can get very busy! Couldn't recommend this place more!

Lady that runs hostel is fantastic and very helpful. Get the whale shark trip from here, she will manage that you will be between first once who got on the boat. She as well helped us with another activities. Very kind lady. Beds are comfortable.

Toilets are very basic, some with no toilet roll so recommend bringing some!

We picked this for the location close to the whale shark tours and it was ideal as the owner helps you organise the tour and goes early (4am) to save your place at the front of the queue in the morning (you join at 5am) for a small additional fee. Overall you get what you pay for, it’s very basic. We had a private room that was clean and had fan, plug etc. For the money it was very good value.

Family-owned hostel right by the beach where you can go swimming with whale sharks. They had someone wait by the road for us to arrive with our bus in the late-evening. The lovely staff made sure we were on the first boats out to the whale sharks the morning after, and that we could rent a GoPro for the activity. They even fixed that we could go to Sumilon Island during our stay, and arranged our ferry from Oslob onwards to Bohol. The outside hut has electronic outlets and a mosquito net, although you need to walk over to the bathroom (shower is rudimentary).

Nana and her husband are the kindest, most helpful hosts I’ve ever had! They wake up at 4am to save your spot in line for the whale sharks so you get to go first. When we had problems with our ferry tickets and transport she worked them out for us. Thank you for the lovely, clean, comfortable stay!

Sharky Hostel is the best place to stay at if you want to do the whale shark tour. The owners get up at 4am to wait in line to reserve a spot for you and wake you up at 5am when it is time to do the tour. They make sure to be the first boat in the water, which is what you want, since it gets super crowded later. On top of this “Nana” the 70 year old owner is very sweet and extremely helpful with ferry bookings, organizing taxis and giving recommendations. This hostel is very basi but has everything you need. I would always stay there again!

Friendly staff. The hostel was next to the whale shark diving/snorkeling place, which was our main purpose to visit. Staff arranged for us to be on the first boat out at 6am. Dorm room we were in was clean and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom clean as well.

Very nice couple as hosts. They help you with everything. We paid 550 Pesos to take the first boat out at 5 a.m to go snorkeling with the whale sharks. Dorms and bathroom are clean. You can refill your water and there is a pool table.

the owner family is so nice and made you feel so welcomed. She organised and managed everything for the whale sharks she even talked to the guys on the harbour and put us in the first boat leaving to the sea. we were the first who swam with the sharks. Thank you so much!

There was not water coming from the shower. We bathed with buckets. The AC was blowing straight on my bed. Place definitely needs renovating for that price.

The location is perfect for the whale sharks watching - 1 min walk! They organise it for you. The lady owner is super sweet and extremely helpful. She let me to check out late. Her husband just a bit rough and not that pleasant.

Staff were so helpful, they organise the whale watching for you and also advise you on directions for your next stop. We stayed in one of the bamboo huts, the bed is comfy and there is a fan. Set up the mosquito net and it’s a comfy sleep. There is also a pool table! Restaurant and grocery store just up the road and you can also rent a scooter to visit oslob main town and waterfalls

I was alone in the hostel with Nanay (Mama Zina), Tatay (Pantalion) and Kimberly and Benjamin, and they gave me a very warm welcome. They invited me to their table and I had the best time with Kim and Benj, honestly awesome tips and help! Thanks a lot!
