The breakfast was fantastic and very comprehensive. My partner is GF, so there were lots of options for him. The facilities were fab, including the gym and spa rooms.

IcelandThe swimming pool was very cold, but it was also November. So, I didn't use it at all, but I was sunbathing every day by the swimming pool, there was good shelter there, and absolutely lovely. The beach is cliffs, but that was my ignorance, Madeira is not about sand beaches.
Great breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms. I was there for 3 weeks, and even if the breakfast buffet was mostly the same stuff, there were also variations. And there were so many choices to start with, and the food so fresh and tasty, I (and my companions) always absolutely loved the breakfast. The location is wonderful, lots of wonderful restaurants next door or within short walking distance. The bus stop is next door, so going downtown is super easy, and the old town is wonderful. Hop on of bus next door too, and it was fun. I love the hotel and I love Madeira. If I ever manage to go to Madeira again, I'll go to again to hotel Allegro. It's also great to be on this adult only, no screaming kids, and no screaming parties either. They use allergy free washing detergent for bedsheets, which is so great, as one of us has allergy to most washing powders. It just shows how attentive they are to details.

GermanyThe room is quite basic and cheaply decorated for a four stared hotel but was spacious. Some of the fitting in the room, notably the bathroom door handle and faucet were wobbly. The ‘coffee’ station in the room, I found also below par, serving instant coffee and a packet of sugar that appeared to have been there for a long time. Lastly, unfortunately the sauna wasn’t working during my stay and I wasn’t informed about it when I checked in.
The location of the hotel is great, very central in São Martinho and close to Funchal. Great view even from the third floor of the ocean, and from the roof top bar the view is incredible to watch the sunset from. The balcony to the seafront was great, as was the super comfortable bed. The inclusive buffet breakfast was terrific, serving freshly made pancakes and fried eggs, as well as local pastries. The gym was well equipped.

HungaryWe had trouble setting up the car charging and the person at the reception was not helpful at all. We wanted to have a room with a sea view (and booked a room with that), but the hotel is built in a way that the building itself blocks the majority of the view which was very annoying. At one occasion we had to wait for a table at breakfast, it can be made better by organizing the guests or telling them which time period(s) are less busy.
Excellent breakfast with wide selection, spacious room. Location is far from city center but close to the sea and offers nice walks. Electric cars can be charged, however setting that up requires cooperation from the staff. Parking place is narrow but once you get your spot at check-in, that will be reserved through your stay (but not the same spot). Excellent roof-top bar with spectacular view to the sea and to the mountains, offering great cocktails.
