Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAlmost nothing. The front door of the building is quite hard to open so I resorted to buzzing the door several times and luckily the host was home and let me in. For anybody who is on the lung-sensitive side, there is a light aroma of pipe smoke or vaping or insense sometimes in the corridor. It's very very light so didn't bother me, but if you had very sensitive lungs to this kind of thing, it might not be for you.
This flat was very well located for my visit to the NOVA public health university for a conference. It's a superb little crash pad for a few days and comfortable in every way, especially the bed mattress. The bathroom is perfect and the little balcony area (indoor) is a bonus with nice light and a sweet table and chair, great for breakfast for one or two. The host is a kind man who telephoned me when I was feeling a bit lost trying to locate the entrance and shared his food with me so I had something to eat late at night on my first evening. I can't express how helpful this was when I was tired and too late for the local supermarket and too brain fatigued to deal with a delivery app. It was beyond kind. He is friendly and trustworthy. I felt very comfortable staying here although it is a family's city flat with a part-time lodger in the other spare room. The flat is well located for Uber pick up's, has banks and supermarkets on the doorstep or a short walk away (nine minutes walk to a larger supermarket, two convenience stores (small food shops) within a one-minute walk). The flat is 4.7km from the air port but not affected by noise. There is a lift for anyone with mobility issues like me that worked the whole time. The flat is on the 4th floor. The room is large and spacious and the attention to small details like a bottle of water and small biscuits and body wash in the shower were much appreciated. I was provided with a large towel and hand towel. The kitchen is fully available and accessible and I made Lemsips every morning using the host's kettle and cups. There is no kettle or fridge in the room but it doesn't matter as the kitchen is a few steps down the corridor. There are no internal stars in the flat if this matters to anyone.

PortugalWe were met by our host who told us about the property and handed over the keys. The room was spacious with our own bathroom and a little enclosed balcony, with water and biscuits left for us, which was a lovely touch. We had the use of a shared well equipped kitchen. We had a great stay even though the property was quite a distance from the centre of Lisbon. However the metro station was a short walk away and with the use of the Navigante card it was very easy to travel around the city.

United KingdomThe local area feels very residential and quiet- we liked it, but if you would like to be at the centre of things, be aware that this area is 20-30 minutes away from central Lisbon.
Very comfy bed, and the location was good enough - only a short walk to the tube, and then 20 minutes into the centre of Lisbon. The flat was very close to the airport, which was convenient after a late flight.

HungaryAntonio is a great host. The suite was super clean, in a quiet location, Auchan and metro/bus stations accessible by foot within 5 min. It takes 30 min by public transport to get to the downtown area.

Russiathe only thing i didn't like is the location, not the best area of lisbon, wouldn't stay there again also, host asked for 12 euros for a city tax, even though booking mentioned only 8 euros (2 people - 2 night stay) - don't know who is right on this one :)
cute room with a very nice bed, clean, enough space for 2 people
