Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We are a retired, well travelled couple and have stayed in many places in many (mainly Northern Hemisphere countries over the past 40+ years. We have stayed in Castles and 5 star hotels but this hotel was definitely the classiest venue with its grandeur, history, culture, artefacts, decor and stories. It has many wonderful bright spacious areas inside and outside. We swam in the clean clear pool and sat in tree-shaded areas. Would like to have used the tennis court but it was too hot for me & I hadn't brought suitable shoes. The breakfast was splendid with a variety of wonderful fresh juicy fruits, a buffet of hot and cold savoury and sweet items and omelettes cooked to order. A wide selection of delicious breada and cakes. All the staff were so kind, courteous and extremely helpful. Hard to believe that all this was available for USD $86 for 2 including breakfast!! T hank you so much.

GermanyBeautiful hotel, one of my favourites in the whole world. Steeped in history and atmosphere, absolutely no need to look at any other hotels in Asuncion. All members of staff very professional and extremely helpful and friendly. Fantastic breakfast and wonderful swimming pool. I will always come back here. No room for improvement.

A charming hotel with character, lovely gardens to relax in and a pool for those lazy moments. It feels like you’re living in a little bit of history and I mean that in a good way. The breakfast choices were plentiful and fresh with a good selection of food and drink. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Special mention should go to Sol on reception, she always greeted us with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. She’s the sort of person who makes you feel special. The hotel is situated in a quiet part of the city not far from the older part of the city, but if you want to go there it’s a five minute $3 taxi ride. The airport is about 30 minutes by car $25 fare by taxi.

United StatesIf you had a second floor room (there are only two floors) you have to carry or have a bellboy bring up/down your suitcases as there is no elevator. This was a very minor issue for us.
I was looking for a decent hotel with parking and a pool within walking distance of the sites in the city center. It met all those expectations and more but what I truly loved is that the entire facility made me feel that I was visiting Asuncion in a different time, the 1950s perhaps. I don't mean that in the slightest negative way, all the amenities that we needed were there. It is more that the architecture and the grounds brought be back to a simpler time. I joked with my wife that this was the place that Juan Peron told Evita they could go in exile in Paraguay in the musical Evita.

PolandWonderful place. Hotel located close to Asuncion centre but after entering you feel like far far away from the City- there is a very large, quiet, well maintained garden, nice pool and the building itself is an example of pearl of architecture. Personnel was very kind, competent and helpful, breakfast fresh and varied. I definetely recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Asuncion.

Absolutely loved it! The property has tons of character and is carefully and tastefully maintained. Lots of historical curiosities around the common spaces. The staff are very friendly and attentive. High quality breakfast served every day. Quiet and convenient location, easy to walk or Uber into historic centre. One of the best places I've stayed anywhere.

Czech RepublicOnly people at the reception speak English, no one else does. The food was good, but not any special experience. In my room I had only super hot water in the shower and they never fixed it although I asked three times. However, the few details did not spoil the experience and I would definitely come back ❤️
Our stay in this place was FANTASTIC!! I cannot imagine a place in Asuncion being more peaceful and with a better atmosphere. The hotel is so beautiful and calm. We stayed for 11 nights and did not want to leave. Swimming pool opened 24/7, lots of greenery and places to rest and relax. Beautiful building, very kind personnel. Especially the waiters were so sweet, although they did not speak a word in English. When I look at what we got for what we paid, I consider it really cheap.
