  • “We booked a family room, that included two bunk beds. Four beds in total, but a couple could fit in one bed. It was such good value. We had a large balcony, a bathroom outside the room that included a shower and a water filter available. The hosts were so helpful and hospitable, we received fruit shakes and fruit on arrival which was amazing :)”

  • “The host was lovely, we received complementary breakfast and there was free coffee and tea. The air con was good, bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of space. We booked the Mt Ijen tour through Thalia which was great and simple to book.”

  • Snooze Review score: 10

“This hostel is wonderful. Everything has been designed so thoughtfully & beautifully and it has such a cosy atmosphere. The staff are the most genuine, friendly & welcoming I’ve ever experienced at a hostel - especially nice if you’re a solo traveller. The location is awesome, quiet and pretty but walkable to everything. Highly recommend!”

  • Ijen Miner Family Homestay Review score: 8

“Very good homestay vibe in a jungle type environment. But….. there are few things to consider it’s far away from the city and it’s in the mountains you can’t find anything close by no restaurants nothing on walking distance you will will need a bike yo go to a restaurant or to get coffee!”

  • “Many others have commented, but everything actually is perfect. I rarely give 10/10, but everything from the welcome, service, the staff, the bed (soft but not too soft), the room, the cleaning, the ambience to the breakfast and the price was fabulous. A home from home and I will without a doubt return. You really have to go to experience it... And a special thanks for a truly yummy packed breakfast for the temple tour and for finding lost cards in the room without any fuss.”

  • Bring In House Yogyakarta Review score: 10

“The staff were lovely, make us feel very welcoming and helping us with the bike, the taxi and they were offering coffee or tea. We could learn about the culture of Yogikarta and they provide us with a good list of restaurant to try local food (if you are more adventerous) or western food.”

  • Gubuk Ndeso Bromo Review score: 9

“The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, supporting us with different organisational things (motorbike rental, etc). Late breakfast after returning from Gunung Bromo was possible. Everything clean - can definitely recommend when going to Gn Bromo!”

“Value for money homestay, very relaxed environment, they give us toast and spreads in morning although no breakfast, Location is close to palace & Malioboro street”

  • Batik Oma House Review score: 10

“The location is OK, you're very near to a supermarket, so if you want to grab a snack or water you just go downstairs, you're also close to the train station (you can walk but if you have bags I recommend you take a Gojek because you have to cross difficult roads without any crosswalk and sidewalks are difficult and sometimes, not existent). The staff is very, very nice! The room is comfortable, and the Wi-Fi is also very fast. The price is excellent for what they offer.”

“It's a very nice place, the Javanese pendopo is lovely, the location is good and the staff very attentive, but be aware that no English is spoken if you do require it. I was the only guest which felt a little lonely, but Solo isn't Jogja and there are far fewer tourists here. If you do go, make sure to ask them to put you in touch with local guide Wayhu. He is an excellent and generous guide to Solo and the surrounding regions (Mt Lawu especially), I can't recommend him highly enough.”
