It is not. It is certainly comfortable, but not excessively decadent. What makes it exceptional is the quality of everything. This is especially true for the food, but also for the tasteful decoration, the warm welcome, the entire experience of being a guest. It seems utterly authentic. It is what it is. It's not trying to be anything more than what it is. It doesn't need to. What it is, is already exceptional. I'm not capturing it in words very well. It seems like a high water mark for western civilisation. The house and bedroom were very quirky and the Marilyn monroe bedroom was just brilliant. The bedroom was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a great night sleep. Breakfast was just what we needed to set us off on our adventures again, fresh and lots of coffee. We will definitely return as it's very very homely and just what you need in a different country.
