“We had high expectations for our stay at Seas of God, but unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing and not at all what we expected from a 5-star hotel.
The room we were given had a split-level design, with the toilet in a basement and the bedroom above. At 6’1”, I had to bend down uncomfortably just to access the bed area. We raised this concern immediately, but the hotel refused to move us to another room despite our repeated requests.
Our stay turned even more distressing when my wife suffered a serious injury while we were out. Upon returning to the hotel for basic first aid, we were given an expired spray plaster and just one small band-aid. There was no proper first aid available, and we had to rush her to the hospital for treatment — something we never expected from a so-called luxury property.
Breakfast was the same every single day, with no variety and almost nothing suitable for vegetarians, despite informing the hotel in advance. We often had to skip it completely.
One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the advertised infinity pool with caldera views — but when we arrived, the pool was completely empty. Staff told us it couldn’t be filled due to regulations, yet nearby hotels had their pools running just fine.
Lastly, the overall service did not reflect a 5-star experience at all. There were very few staff, and the one person managing meals and guest needs was clearly overworked. The level of service simply did not match the premium pricing (€150 per night).
We ended up checking out a day early because we were so disappointed with the experience. Sadly, this stay did not reflect the standard we expected or paid for.”
“The location is stunning. The host Vassily( probably spelt wrong🤦♂️) was so king and informative. His staff were lovely. Really attentive, especially Renea. Their dog Fava is gorgeous.
Just stay here. It’s amazing.”
“Everything was amazing but extra credit to the two receptionists; they honestly made the hotel the best experience. They informed us of everything we could do, checked we were happy everytime we came in and helped us everytime we needed information. They both deserve a payrise !”
“We had the loveliest stay at Uma Ray suites. We had the pool view room which had its own private double sun lounger which was really special. We could access the pool from the room as well which was nice! The staff were so friendly, helpful and attentive. We were given pool towels, and there were robes and slippers too. We didn’t use the indoor pool, but it looked very clean and was heated. The outside pool was also very clean and nice and refreshing! The location was great , only 5 mins from the bus station and 2 mins from lovely restaurants with unreal views. We would love to come back & stay here again, and would definitely recommend!”
“Very kind and efficient Ephrem, organised help with leaking shower head and missing toilet seat, in a blink of an eye!
Parking around the area was sufficient and we rented a car and roamed free every day!
In my opinion, the way to visit the island, even in low season!”
“Great place for a solo traveller. Easy access to eateries and also public transportation. Staff were exceptionally helpful and very willing to provide information and also help plan visits to the many sites on Santorini.”
“Unusual and very well presented cave suite set in a hilltop village in the centre of the island. Dimitri the proprietor was very hospitable and helpful with good information about things to do on the island. Breakfast with a view of fresh organic and handmade pastries. The access is a little hairy and parking is limited. There is nothing going on in the village, maybe something will open later in the season. You have to drive everywhere.”
“The view and location-unbeatable!
We only stayed in Santorini because our ferry had been cancelled to Folegandros and I had visited Santorini twice before. As it turned out we were so pleased it had been cancelled. The hotel was enchanting as it used to be a Sea Captain’s house so it was traditional and full of character.
The view was absolutely amazing and there was only one other couple staying at the hotel. We enjoyed drinks on our terrace as we quietly soaked up the view and watched the sunset. It was a magical stay that we will never forget.
Alesandra at reception could not have been more helpful, welcoming and accommodating. A taxi picked us up from the port and as soon as the taxi arrived the cheerful porter/waiter was there to carry our heavy bags.
The bus stop is near so we also spent part of the day and Oia and visited the nearby Archaeological Museum close to the hotel.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We chose an executive room and it was the best choice we have made so far on our two month travels around Greece.
Thank you to all the staff who demonstrated Greek hospitality at its best.”
