Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom- The infrastructure looks old: a couple of times during our stay, there was no electricity in the room for a couple of hours.
- Excellent location in a wonderful old fortress. - View on the Danube from the windows. - Nice and helpful staff.

SwitzerlandIt was perfect to stay here for our tour in Novi Sad. Petrovaradin has a lot to offer. The hotel was really lovely, it was calm, our juniour suite has a good size. The Danube view was enjoyable. Breakfast was wonderfull, parking was in front of the hotel. Some areas would benefit from a little cosmetic renovation, but we found it charming.:-)

CroatiaNothing that mattered in particular, we were able to live with everything. Breakfast is generally OK, but it could use more frequent refilling of the things which were consumed. We took a suite, so I presume it is not a tipical room, but the additional bed for the kids has seen better days.
The location is great, the close-by restaurant at the same fortress is great as well. General appearance of the hotel, the lobby, etc. is nice. The minibar is good, the staff is good. The view from the hotel and the nearby restaurant's terrace is quite nice.

AustriaThe riverwiew is spoiled by a dirty mosquito net and an even dirtier ventilator that takes half of the view. Our room was very small and full of furniture. The bed was absolutely too narrow for two people.
Beautifully located within the fortress, Hotel Leopold overlooks the Danube and the city of Novi Sad. The room was tastefully furnished, breakfast buffet was very good.

AustraliaIt is a non-smoking hotel, so everyone (including staff and locals possibly, was hard to tell but some had cushions and appeared to be settled in for a day of drinking and smoking) stands right at the open front doors and smokes. As the doors are open, the smoke then wafts into the reception area. There were other areas very close by the hotel that would suit for smoking and ensure guests who are non-smokers do not get covered in smoke every time they enter and exit the hotel.
A fabulous hotel located right on the river, with fantastic views of the sunset. It was like taking a step back in time with the furnishings and decoration. The hotel is huge, with multiple hallways and spaces to explore. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was well catered.

United StatesAlthough the property has the best view in town, it's a 15 minute walk to the center of town. If you choose to walk back uphill to the fortress, there are 200 steps to hike up to the top. However, a cab was only about 4 Euros to the hotel and that was our chosen method for the return.
Great location on top of the fortress hill overlooking the city. The hotel is like an old villa with parlors furnished with antiques on both sides of the front desk. Beautiful floor tile and carpets throughout the hotel. Our room had a view of the Danube River. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We loved eating at the terrace cafe in the evenings with cocktails at sunset to watch the sun sink over the city and river.

HungaryWonderful hotel in a historical place of the city! Located in a fortress on the high bank of the Danube, with an unforgettable view of Novi Sad. Authentic hotel atmosphere, very rich breakfast. Two wonderful restaurants directly next to the hotel. Everything makes your stay at the hotel extremely comfortable! Comfortable bed and good quality bed linen! I recommend it for a holiday for a few days!

FranceIt's a shame to have installed the air conditioners on the windows, because you can't close the lovely wooden shutters any more. The curtains in the bedrooms would have to be adapted to keep the room dark at night.
A beautiful hotel located in the heart of my fortress. The lounges are decorated with antique furniture and beautiful curtains. It's a place that takes us back in time. The suite was magnificent, with an alcove bed. The breakfast included was delicious. We had a great choice of food and drink.

United StatesFor those walking from Novi Sad train station (which I assume not many would since it's about 45 minutes of walking), it could be a bit confusing as to how to get inside the fortress.
The hotel and room combines modern and classical themes - designed to make you feel like you booked at a royal palace, but with modern amenities. It is also located inside a fortress! Depending on the room you booked, you could also get a beautiful view of the Danube river.

Beautifully located in the Petrovaradin fortress along the lovely Danube, the decor too was period and very beautiful. The staff was very helpful and took care of us really well. Breakfast was a good spread and well prepared. The restaurant close by was fabulous with superb staff and the most delicious food.
