Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

QatarThe construction in front of the hotel
The property is good but they have a critical issue with the constructions just in front of the hotel, no taxi will accept to take you there and if they will you would need to walk to get to the hotel

South AfricaThere are currently construction of a new bridge right in front of the hotel which makes access to the hotel extremely difficult, as taxi/Uber drivers can't find the hotel. There is a road on the side of the hotel but it's not a known road. many drivers doesn't know how to get there. We had to walk down a narrow path, along construction boards to get to a bridge to get meet our Uber driver after he too got lost. The hotel offered a complimentary bus to Masjid Al-Haram but you have to walk along this narrow passage to get to the bus. Then the bus dropped us off so far from the Haram we were so tired when we finally got there to perform our Umrah. Sadly, I was unable to continue my stay at the hotel as this affected us negatively and we managed to find alternative accommodation that we were happy with.
The staff was being very helpful despite the situation.

United KingdomWe lost a significant amount of time and money due to the lengthy walks required to reach key locations. This left our entire family exhausted, and it overshadowed what should have been a smooth and enjoyable stay. All of this could have been avoided if Booking.com had clearly highlighted these issues. Transparency is critical, and had we been informed, we would have chosen a more convenient place. Unfortunately, this lack of communication left us feeling misled and frustrated.
The property itself and the staff were truly amazing, providing excellent service throughout our stay. However, the experience was significantly marred by the roadworks in the vicinity, which made it a nightmare to get around. All nearby roads were blocked, making it nearly impossible to get a taxi to and from the Haram. This issue was a major inconvenience and should have been communicated to customers prior to booking. We felt misled, especially as platforms like Booking.com did not highlight this critical information. Transparency about such issues is essential to avoid customers feeling scammed.

United StatesThe road in front of the hotel is blocked due to construction. As a result we were forced to carry our bags about 500 meters to the hotel. Every time we went somewhere we had yo walk the same dirty, narrow, unsafe side walk.
The property is nice and clean, no complaints.

AzerbaijanThe Hotel location is sooo bad.İn front of the hotel has construction work.So the room was very loud. The road was closed because of construction work. It was very difficult to walk to Masjid al-Haram. Taxis were not going for less than 20 riyals. The hotel had arranged a bus but the times were very bad and they were parking very far away. Our legs literally broke from walking. We had no strength left to pray in the mosque. The hotel should have informed us about this in advance.
The room was very clean.Breakfast not good not bad.Personal was very kindly.

United KingdomI am a very frequent traveller from London. I went to Umrah and stayed in this hotel. In front of the hotel, massive contractions are going on at the moment, and it's an utter nightmare. Someone with mobility issues, please DO NOT book in this hotel. It is not a walking distance from the herem for sure and side way walking is not safe at all. Secondly, I stayed four nights at the hotel, the room was not cleaned, and no towels or toiletries were provided. When I contacted the night before i left, they said you have to request everything you need to the receptions. The reception staff was poorly trained. I went to a Umrah, and do I have time every day to call the reception for toiletries? What is shocking when I told them I would leave a bad review? They put me as a no-show after I left the hotel. I contacted the hotel after my return to London via app, and they said it was a mistake, but they didn't remove the no-show. I contacted booking.com customer service in the USA, and they forwarded me the link for the review. As I have the credit card to prove that I stayed in the hotel. Can you imagine how could a three star hotel can do this to their customers in Mecca? I went on a spiritual trip and had no intention to complain and but I realised I must write a review so that the next person who stays in the hotel is aware of this situation.
Nothing apart from the porter took my bags to my room. They were very polite.
