Charming little ship to sleep in, but watch for air in your booked room

Our room was at the bottom of the ship, very tiny and there was no air circulation in the room at all. We ran out of oxygen during the night and woke up with a terrible headache in the morning. The room was way hot as well, but what was most concerning was the lack of oxygen.

It was not cleaned properly, we found a lot of dust and breadcrumbs under the bed.

They have rooms without window too which was our second room on our 2nd check in. It feels suffocating and sad. Good thing is, when I asked the staff if I could change rooms they accommodate and understand me.

It’s unique and very near the old town. The location of the hotel is quiet and relaxing. You can spend your free time in the hotel watching the city lights. The rooms are clean and the size is reasonable. The toilets are clean too. The staff are helpful and will accommodate if you have request. Sweden has been very memorable because of this hotel.

The boat you see on the main pictures (Rygerfjord I) is not the one we stayed in. There are two of these actually (Rygerfjord II & III with a pontoon in between), much alike the boxes you find on construction sites: strictly functional. So much for the charm. They're also moored perpendicularly to the pier. So the (lake) view we had was mainly on the other boats (moored along the pier). The cabin surface was very small. Luckily for us we were there for a short trip with minimum luggage. And the surroundings were quite noisy (night club in a nearby boat) till 3 or 4 AM.

Very affordable price and great location. Big window and big shower space (for a boat cabin). Everything was very clean.

I have booked economy room which was the last available. The bed was really small and too short for me. I am 190cm and I couldn't sleep straigth in the bed because my feet and head were touching the walls. Also width of the bed was not more than 60cm. Also there is a sink in the room which was making really weird noise for the whole night and horrible smell from the toilets. They have to use pumps for the toilets and sinks to get water and waste out of the boat. And as all of them is connected to one system the sound and the smell comes everywhere when toilet is occupied.

View from the boat was really nice. You can see Cathedral and panorama of the old town.

The staff wasn't that nice. I was having an issue with the days we could stayed and I had to talk with more than one person about it because it seemed they didn't communicate between them. The second person I talked with wasn't very nice, and finally my issue wasn't solved at all.

The location it's great, and the fact that you are staying in a boat instead of a building it also adds to the experience. The rooms where quite small, but for the two of us (short girls) was ok. They didn't have air conditioning though, which would have been nice since we were there on summer. We weren't on our rooms that much, but every time we came back they were very warm. The cleanliness was ok. I liked that even though there common showers and toilets, they were separated so you could have privacy in them.

Not worth it for the novelty of staying on a boat
    • Leisure trip

The novelty of the hotel being a boat wore out very quickly. The “city view” on my booking turned out to be a tiny, cracked, fogged porthole that looked onto another part of the ship. No city in sight. They inexplicably put a bedside lamp right above the pillow, so I had to sleep awkwardly to one side to avoid banging my head on it. The shared bathroom facilities were a bit cramped and the toilet flush (a ferry-style suction thing) requires multiple flushes to make any progress. In the afternoon of my second day, a fellow guest made a revolting mess of the toilet bowl and, worse, part of the seat. This mess was still there at 10am the next day, which illustrates that the shared facilities are not cleaned with sufficient frequency. Both my bedroom door and the bathroom door had an enormous gap in it, where presumably a previous lock had fitted. If you’re concerned about privacy, not great.

Lovely location by the water and a short (10-15 minute) walk from the Old City. Bed was comfortable and I slept well.

you should understand that it’s a real old ship, so there’re no soundproof walls. i was okay with that. also they first day there were big waves, so even when I was walking around in the city I still felt the waves :)) but it was an incredible experience for me!

i liked everything - the views are breathtaking, the room I booked was a great size for me. there was an opportunity to use the common kitchen to cook. the bathrooms were pretty nice! also I came a bit early - at 10 am, and I was checked in!!! even though the check in time starts at 3 pm. thank you a lot!

Rooms were too warm - desktop fan supplied and required all the time. This was in cloudy 20deg weather. Pass code supplied for access to ship but due to heat, the door was left ajar all the time. The ship (Rygerfjord 3) seemed to be workers accommodation rather than a normal hotel (?). It was fine, but a quite different vibe. No sound isolation between rooms. Rooms were small but as expected.

Location was fairly central, 15 - 20 minute walk to the old town. Staying on a ship was a novelty. The views out the window were stunning. Breakfast was a quite good buffet

Fantastic value for money! Perfect location as a base to explore Stockholm, walkable distance to a nice lookout, metro, shops, cafes, everything you need. A great on-site Thai restaurant with very authentic food and not expensive for the amount and quality you get. With a view! The room was specious enough and the beds were comfy, the bathrooms are extremely clean, no issues whatsoever. It was very quiet during the day and at night. Very friendly and responsive staff. All in all, great experience, highly recommended!

I have to say the photos are misleading. The view from the window was nothing like the pictures that advertised the room. You could see some water, but only standing at the window. People moving around behind under the windows.
