How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Bathroom are extremely unclean and no cleaning in regular basis. Staff in night shift is really rude , doesn’t consider people friendly which is not a good culture for an hostel.

Bathroons wet and dirty all day. Really no breakfast: just 2 cookies and no option for a black coffe for ex. It can not be considered breakfast included when you book. 3 floors without elevator.

You get what you paid for. Place is dirty from the onset of stepping on the first tile. I say this in comparison with other hostels I've been to in Singapore. Lady staff at night I encountered is unfriendly and unaccomodating (borderlining rude), and she has some effort to argue with menial requests.
Location, near MRT though, around 15 minutes walk. There are restaurants below that offer a variety of meals. The rate of accommodation is justifiable.

Toilets and corridors were not clean. You are promised a breakfast. But what you get is a cracker in plastic. Nobody eats there. There are four cups in a hostel, so if you get one of them, you can make yourself a cup of coffee.
Beds were comfortable. Room was clean.

The booking said "breakfast included", but that was very misleading. There was no breakfast. They only had some cookies or as they call it 'breakfast snacks'. So that was a bit disappointing and I don't think they should say breakfast included in the listing. Just some simple bread would've been great. There are no curtains at the bed and they beds are a bit old. When the person above you moves, the entire bed moves too. It's not very hygienic. The showers and toilets are very dirty at times.
The common room is very cozy, nice place. I really liked that. That's a big con.

They were painting the hallway in the middle of the night. The smell from the pain was so strong that I felt like I was going to pass out. I had to check out of this place at midnight and walk across the street to a hotel.

One of the staff could have had a better service attitude, but the management were responsive when we expressed our dissatisfaction, so it was all cleared up swiftly and satisfactorily.
The ambience and the common facilities and areas, especially the Patio/Deck upstairs!

The bathrooms are never clean, and on the first floor there is only one toilet cubicle. There's no privacy in the dorms. The location is not ideal as it's quite far to walk anywhere. The price is also very high for the facilities offered.

The bed was so hard it was very difficult to sleep. Everything else was perfect.

One of the most affordable option in Singapore but it gets busy during big events. We were there during Taylor Swift concert weekend so it was very busy and the staff didn't keep up with bathroom cleaning well enough.

Only 1 toilet and 2 showers on one floor to share with around 20 people.
Nice property in a good location (about an hours walk from gardens by the bay). Rooms are basic but it is a good price for accommodation in Singapore. Staff were really friendly.

The bathrooms were in good condition, but they had a bad smell early in the morning or late at night.
The staff was nice and helpful, the property was clean and the bed was in good condition while checked in. Arrived earlier and they allowed me to have a shower and let my bags at the hostel before check in. Beds were comfortable.
