Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe resort was very very kid friendly, we had an amazing time. The food was high quality. The staff were very nice and friendly. The resort is located on sentosa Island, which means there was something to do everyday. You can stay in the resort and have a blast or go out exploring.

AustraliaWe had an outstanding experience at the Shangri-La! Excellent facilities, courteous and attentive staff!! The breakfast and dinner buffet are outstanding! The room was decorated for my 50th birthday and even a small cake was offered along with a bottle of wine and fruit.

Singapore1) the pillows were too soft. 2) buffet breakfast and dinner was not factored in when booked via 3rd party app, thus it was confusing 3) should have more indoor activities especially when it rains. (most activities did no change at all since 6years ago), there is only 2 table tennis tables, 1 pool table and 1 football table which was the same 6years ago.. 4) Sentosa is abit dead for a weekend, went for a run at 930pm and the only place that seems alive was 12@Palawan...what happened to Sentosa?

AustraliaThe Shangri-La was an amazing hotel choice for our family with a baby and 6 year old. The staff were exceptional and very attentive when our baby was unwell one night. The hotel is setup for children and caters to their every need from a mini height kids buffet (fridge of monster cakes, pink milk machine) to mini robes and slippers. Baby needs were not forgotten with a baby station at breakfast that will surprise all! The pool areas were beautifully clean and maintained. The 3-7 year olds will love the safe little slides with tarp covering this area for sun safety. We loved our courtyard room and being able to walk directly out onto the pool area. The pull out sofa was even more comfortable than the adult beds and air cons were quiet and efficient. The location is great if wanting to access amenities on sentosa island. The only negative was we would liked to order more fruit / vegetables after breakfast such as poolside mango / pineapples or room service more than burgers / chips / pasta. There is a 7/11 100m walk away and we went here to buy drinks, fruit, snacks to eat back at the hotel. We loved this hotel for our family and would not hesitate to return mostly for the beautiful accommodating staff that made us feel welcome at front reception and the house keeping staff were 10/10!

FranceMy overall experience at the hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back. Everything was perfect, though the big boat in front of the hotel on the sea side was the only downside.

United Arab EmiratesBeach but this is not related to Shangri-La, it is Singapore's position so don't expect turquoise water. We tried meat lovers dinner buffet, the only beef we found was in salad. I expect to see meatballs, steaks and roasts, beef wellington when they specifically mention meat lovers night. When you say meat, it may mean different things in different cultures. Sushis served are not up to par. They serve 4 types(like nigiri, maki...etc) so I expect these to be top quality in shape, taste and type. The above are minor things but when the stay is so perfect it worth mentioning.
Room size was decent. The comfort of bed was dreamy! The deserts in the buffet was exceptional, not cream and sugar bomb ! Kids club! my daughter cried when we were leaving. She enjoyed her time so much. What else I could ask more? It was great to know she is having great time while I enjoy my quiet time. In-room dining, tasty with very big portions.

United KingdomThis is definitely a family resort hotel . An adult area near the pool but not adhered to. Very noisy music for children’s events in the pool that reverberated everywhere!
Buffet Breakfast was fantastic , but busy. Better if they had an adult area.

NetherlandsWe recently had the pleasure of staying at Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa for two nights, and our experience exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with unparalleled hospitality by the reception team, who assisted us with genuine warmth and friendliness during check-in. We had originally booked a simple and affordable mountain-facing room, but upon entering, we were surprised and delighted to find that we had been unexpectedly upgraded to a stunning corner suite with a breathtaking beach view from our balcony. As if that wasn’t enough, we were greeted with a “Congratulations” banner on the bed and an assortment of luxurious treats, including a cake and macarons in the fridge. Additionally, a bottle of wine was provided (though we don’t drink alcohol). This thoughtful surprise truly transformed our last two days into an extraordinary experience. The stay itself was incredibly comfortable—the beds were excellent, the bathroom was spotless, and every detail had been carefully considered. Our 2.5-year-old son was even provided with a special amenities kit, including a toothbrush and slippers, which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The selection was incredibly extensive, offering a wide variety of high-quality dishes to suit every taste. Unlike many hotels that provide an espresso machine in the room, Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa has taken a different approach by offering a central Nespresso station located outside, near the restaurant. This station is stocked with professional-grade Nespresso cups and takeaway cups, making it accessible to anyone who wants to enjoy a quiet, high-quality coffee in a relaxed setting. In the evening, we enjoyed the buffet dinner, which was very reasonably priced. I was looking forward to trying the Peking duck, but it was hanging next to the pork belly, which posed an issue for me as I am highly allergic to pork. The chef immediately noticed my hesitation and asked what was wrong.

SingaporeGreat location and facilities, especially for family with kids. Hotel room was nothing out of the ordinary and foods were also ok (was definitely expecting more from the brand). Staff attentiveness could be improved as i was organising a birthday surprise for my husband, but staff went to approach him instead and that kinda ruined the surprise for my husband. We also had trouble logging in and redeeming our vouchers from shangrila circle which led to long check out and settlement at restaurants.
