Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

My stay at the hotel was exceptional. The room was impeccably clean and well air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable environment throughout my stay. I was particularly impressed with Mr. Andy, a highly motivated and accommodating staff member who promptly addressed all my queries with professionalism and courtesy. Breakfast, served from 7am to 10am, was included in the stay and offered a variety of options, including four types of spreads, chocolate milk, regular milk, and muesli. Additionally, guests have access to coffee, tea, and water 24 hours a day, as well as convenient amenities such as a refrigerator, an iron, and a hairdryer. The combination of a pleasant stay, the supportive staff, especially Mr. Andy, and the great location made my experience truly enjoyable. I look forward to returning in the future.

United KingdomWasn’t too much of a problem for us with our 60 litre and 50 litre backpacks but if you have suitcases, the lockers are too small. You can leave this in storage at the reception but it costs $10 a day I think.
Staff were also super friendly and helpful- especially Min Sike Aung! Helped us print our visa for Indonesia. Shared facilities were always very clean and the bed had plugs, lamps, hooks etc. Breakfast was always put out on time. Was a choice of 4 different cereals, 2 milks, bread as well as 5 different spreads. Unlimited tea and coffee throughout the day.

DenmarkStayed here for a weekend to attend a local concert. The hostel is very well situated in the middle of Chinatown, very close to MRT and many awesome restaurants. The facilities were alright -- clean and in working order.

United KingdomAll good
Excellent hostal in a great location in Chinatown and next to the MRT station. Bed was so comfy, clean and spacious.Breakfast was basic but free and drinks available 24hrs. Good size dorm room and kitchen area.I like the bathroom as toilets and showers separate but plenty of space with lots of sinks too.Different areas to sit and a couple.of desks if you want to work with a laptop. The lockers were a good size under the bed too. I could check in early as bed was ready which was appreciated. Really good value for the money and would definately recommend. I had stayed in another hostal in Smith St which was double the price and smaller. Staff were very nice too.

NetherlandsOften too cold in the room at night, only one locker for the double capsule, bed smells in the rooms (opening the window once in a while would help), breakfast not served at the time said (supposedly 7:00 but we gave up at 8:00), and no toilet paper from evening to late morning. Overall problems from unmotivated staff.
Comfortable capsule, relatively small rooms (8 people), plenty showers, the fact that they provide towels, and good location

United StatesThe common places and bathrooms don't have AC, so it's pretty hot. I'd stay in the bedrooms unless you need to come out.
Great place to crash at for a couple of hours before our very early red-eye flight. We needed a place to store luggage, shower, and crash for a couple of hours. Beats a lounge in my opinion. Wish we could've actually stayed the whole night and taken advantage of their breakfast offer. A/C blasting in the bedroom, which we needed. Also, they make you take off your outdoor shoes before roaming all common areas like bathrooms and hallways. I kind of like that. I was able to walk around with flip-flops on; it made the common areas feel cleaner and less dusty. Within the actual room, every bed has its own locker. The locker is big enough to store 2 carryons + 2 backpacks, which was all we had with us. That was nice. Many hostels have tiny lockers. If you come early, they let you drop off the luggage and go explore. I definitely took advantage of that.

SloveniaWell, the breakfast is very basic. Toast with spreads or cereal. It would be nice to have more options. But I liked that the coffee and tea were avaiable for the whole time.
The hostel is very clean. I liked that there is a curtain at the bed area. The “cubicle” was quite comfortable and it felt private. The location is great, also the stuff were nice. There is also a water dispenser in the kitchen.

Isle of ManQuite overpriced for a hostel. Very basic breakfast, just toast! The inside is very dark and almost dingy.
The staff stayed up for our late arrival, it was initially supposed to be 11pm but we were delayed until 2am. Comfy and clean beds, great location, nice bathrooms.

ThailandIt's not about the hostel itself actually but in case you book a dorm, DO NOT forget to bring earplugs just in case. Because you will never know how your neighbours are gonna be :)
The location is very nice. Very close to the Chinatown mrt and surrounded with many nice restaurants. The staff are nice and helpful. The bed comes with a curtain so it's pretty private for a dorm room

United KingdomNot very sociable so I wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking for somewhere to make friends. The common areas and bathrooms were also pretty hot as the fans weren’t very effective (the rooms were nice and cold though!)
Best part of the hostel was the location! It was only two minutes from a good MRT station and had multiple attractions within walking distance. There were enough showers and toilets etc and I never had to wait.
