Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe noise probably, and also they changed from using a key to the door to keying in the PIN. The input of numbers were noisy at some times.
The hostel was well equipped with numerous amounts of showers and toilets. This was very much necessary as there were many people using the areas during the peak morning times.

United KingdomThere could have been more communal space to relax outside of the room + opportunity for social activities with other visitors e.g. board games. No oven/hob so couldn't cook, but we coped easily enough with the microwave and kettle during our short stay.
Perfect location - easy access to underground stations + ChinaTown, restaurants, shops etc. Very clean across the hostel. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was simple but very good/convenient to have.

BelgiumActually nothing special. To be reaaaaaaally picky : the tabs where you tap the code make a noise each time you hit it but did not wake me up.
Right next to the Chinatown metro station, the location is not on a busy road but there are few pubs and cafés in Mosque Street but it did not bother although my room (called "Chinatown) was facing the street. You could walk to most tourist hotspots. The room (6-bed male dorm) was quite spacious, the pods are not big but high enough to sig comfortably and come with a curtain for privacu (not 100% sure you see those curtains on the pics though) and I really appreciated the security (everything is made with a unique code for main entrace, room door and locker). The aircon was very good and appreciated considering the usual heat in SG. Cleanliness : very clean even the facilities like toilet and showers. You see that they are cleaned several times a day to keep them clean). I have not tested the breakfast.

United KingdomRoom was advertised as a 8 bed dorm, I was put in a 10 bed - no problem at all just incorrect info. Also I had an early flight and received mixed messages about getting to the airport, again in the end was no problem but caused some anxiety.
Really great location, comfy beds and a good kitchen area. Plenty of showers and toilets which were well maintained. No shoe policy also kept the place feeling cleaner.

New ZealandThe room could have been cooler. There is air con, but it wasn’t that cool. Also there is a new keypad system installed that is very noisy when anyone opens a door or locker, which you can hear from other rooms down the hall, not just your own.
Fantastic location. The hostel itself was clean and modern, with great facilities. So it’s really decent value for the price. And the staff are super helpful and friendly too.

United KingdomMy only issue was the room didn't have any windows and had a smell of damp. Thankfully I just used it as somewhere to sleep so wasn't so bad.
Very clean, everyone was very friendly and it had everything I needed for my stay.

AustraliaI messaged weeks prior requesting a lower pod as I am 70 and the ladders are a bit challenging. This didn’t happen…maybe they didn’t get the message. Also the pipes for the toilet upstairs drained right next to me and were audible but the hostel can’t help that.
Have visited before and most liked that the people sharing (10 beds in the room) were guided by clear rooms and were quiet and respectful. The staff are very helpful

CanadaPeople entering the dorm without knocking. Strange weird smell in the dorm that impregnated all my stuff somehow. Very humid inside.thats not the fault of the hostel but guests (that are not used to share their room) should be informed to respect others and apply basic common sense (load conversations at night, phone calls and at whatever time of the day and night).
It is well located in Chinatown. Easy to go everywhere from there. It was relatively clean. Simple breakfast but good to have one.

IndonesiaNo lift, only stairs and always has cracked sound when i gonup n down eventho i try to be quite.so if you bring big luggage then a bit tiring for you to go up. The bathroom has some small insect that always around the shower room wall. My aunt label her own food for her to eat the next day but it suddenly gone. She dont want to make a fuss as we want to check out already but i still think its an issue as it stated that we can label our food and put in fridge. So we thought it will be safe. My one ok but hers gone..😑
Very near to chinatown MRT and quite a lot food or hawker surrounding. Bed is comfortable, aircond working well Simple breakfast every morning, the lounge is just infront of our bed room so very convenient for us.

AustraliaFewer pods in rooms? Not possible I guess. Cooking facilities would be good but kitchen space is limited.
Pods in rooms are ok provided quiet is maintained. Clear rules about this possibly helped. No alcohol in the public areas after ten is a good strategy, and breakfast hours are good. Security is really good with card access to main door, bedrooms and lockers. Showers hot and bathrooms clean.

Hong KongOnly two things : breakfast is minimal and quality is disappointing; the hostel's reception is on the first floor and no lift to get there.
The location is convenient. The facilities are fine. There's a locker under the capsule bed to store your suitcase and belongings. Everything is accessed by tapping a single card which is convenient.

United KingdomThe entry stairwell smelt like urine. The hot water provided in the kitchen was not enough. It was from a water filter machine, but the machine could not keep up with the number of guests. It does two cups before reducing temperature. We couldn't get to the hot water and had to microwave our tea. They should think of investing in a bekko boiler or kettle
It was in a great location, the staff were helpful, the AC worked, the bathroom was not too crowded. The shower was nice and hot. The beds were comfy and private.

CanadaI wish there was more hooks, a basket or a mini shelf in the shower to put away clothing. Best to bring ear plugs to ensure no noise disturbance while sleeping.
Stayed for 3 nights and had a pleasant experience at Wink@Mosque Street. It is about 3-4 minutes walk to the nearest Chinatown MRT station entrance. Best thing about this hostel is the close proximity access to the Chinatown Complex, Maxwell’s hawker centers. Basic breakfast items such as toast, milk and cereal are offered, but I rather much preferred to venture out to eat instead. The facility is well kept and clean, bed was comfy and air condition was more than adequate. The staffs I encountered were all quite friendly.

United StatesYou cannot wear shoes which was kind of gross. Blankets were super thin which I did not like. Our friend was in a capsule but unlike others it did not lock. We were in a double with bunk beds and ut was good. They don't have good common areas away from rooms for people to hang out. So people were outside our rooms being noisy all night. Breakfast area too small for size if hostel. I'd stay again, but there might be better options.
Great location in Chinatown around the corner from a mall and near restaurants and the Chinatown complex. Plus two minutes walk to the metro.
