How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

This simple hostel couldn’t be better-located! Kobarid is a charming little town with some great restaurants and bars. We wished we could have stayed longer!

Bathrooms could be cleaner.
Walking the Juliana Trail, we found this centrally located hostel met our expectations. Had a private room with bunkbeds and a shared bathroom. Location was great, staff was amazing and overall experience was good.

No air condition, the room was like 40 degrees. Other guests left shower doors open whitch made it even more hot, maybe a note to the doors remininding keeping the doors closed would be good.
Comfy beds, nice staff, shared kitchen and possibility to do your laundry. Perfect location.

The room was very stuffy and hot, and it was difficult to open both windows without moving one of the beds. It would have benefited greatly from a fan to cool things down.
The location was great, it was affordable.

Sharing in a small place can be tiring. Most people are respectful and considerate of other travellers.

Small room with old metal bunk bed. Check-in is only until 6pm which is hard to accomplish after a sporty day outdoors.

A little bit noisy during the high season, due to the location (understandable) and the rooms were a little bit hot due to the good weather

No parking (there is chargable parking opposite the hostel or free parking on a street cca 5 min walk away). Toilets, shower, kitchen are shared (they were clean when we were there).
Great value for money, central location, helpful English speaking staff, clean.

A bit of noisier in the evening due to neqrby restaurant. But it does not devaluate the stay in any way.

The room and bed sheets smelled like cigarettes and the entire accommodation wasn’t very clean overall. No fan nor ac in the room. We had to sleep with the door of the room open to be able to get a bit of air inside the room.

THE SHOWER ROOMS!!!! They were absolutely DISGUSTING. Mould all on the ceilings, around the shower and the smell of mould coming out of the room. The shower closest to our room (number 3) was the worst. It seems in the other one they attempted to clean it which helped a little with the smell, but it was still gross. What baffled me was all the posters about social distancing and hand hygiene, when mould is more of a health hazard. My suggestion- get some vinegar to kill the mould… or just something!! Cleanliness is a necessity not a luxury.
Great location and well priced. We stayed in a twin room and had a lot of space, rooms were great. Kitchen facility also which was useful, washing machine also available which is always a bonus. Staff where also very helpful.

Small hostel. 18 beds or so. 2 toilets & two showers. Showers had no fan and mould on ceilings. When hostel is busy, no room in bar fridge for food and tiny kitchen. There is only two stools with a tiny bench as the ‘shared’ area.
Good location. Paid car park 20m away. Free parking at local supermarket.

The room was small and rather hot. The bunk beds were ok, but bunk beds. The small kitchen was poorly lit.
The hostel was centrally located, clean and inexpensive.

Can be a bit noisy as outside there is a little bar, if you are a light sleeper, you may want to take it into consideration. The rest was perfect!
