Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Switzerland- I think they should not forget to specify that the property features a swimming pool that is located in the middle of the bathroom and that is being constantly refilled during the day/evening and reaching its maximum near the middle of the night - so you might be able to take a good swim while going for a pee at night; - no separation between male and female bathrooms: you are able to enjoy the appearance of the beautiful representatives of the opposite/same sex while taking a dump; - The staff is dubious - we were told that we were given a favor by being "upgraded" to a private room from a capsule, while in reality it was the same capsule that we stayed a couple of nights before and that I booked - just for 2 people, not a private room, also the lady at the reception was sarcastic when I asked where I could find our "room" - by answering that I should know if I stayed here before. I mean: come on, what the heck! - It is your job to explain these things to me even if I am a complete idiot in your opinion. Also the guy at the reception the other night was having trouble to figure out how to make a latte macchiato and what type of cup to use but he tried to compensate that by looking extra busy and pouring a cup of espresso into a huge mug and trying to mask that as a latte by chugging a huge glass of water next to it on a tiny tray
+ the beds are very comfy, and the capsules are generally pretty quiet (but there is a white noise from AC units in your and neighboring rooms), but can be hard to climb to (the stairs are not that great if you are climbing them without shoes) + great location and great concept of the hotel

Switzerlandbathroom is not clean and taken care of properly, there is also a huge puddle of water in the bathroom all the time, many shower stalls did not have shower gel in them, so it was a challenge to find where to bath; we were in the "top" capsule and the ladder that you have to climb to get to bed is not very comfortable - there might be a second handle that would help or the stairs could be done such that it is not painful to climb them without shoes electrical outlets far from the bed
bed is supercomfortable; room is quiet but you can hear the AC noise (also for the neighboring), which is in principle a white noise, so good for sleep, but some people might dislike it; USB ports for charging your phone next to a bed is a plus; there is a kitchen and working areas; staff was helpful helping us to print bus tickets

United StatesThe room was small but this was expected. The bathroom facilities needed to be cleaned more often and often has a weird smell because the air conditioning/ heat was not turned on making the air very musty. There were also no shower curtains leading water to spill all over the bathroom floors with nobody to mop up after everyone took their morning showers. The linens in my room were not completely clean and I did find a few hairs that were clearly not my own.
The concept of the hotel hostel combination was very nice. Overall the bed was comfortable and the room was nice. The location was perfect right between the bus train station and next to the historic district. the wifi was also plenty fast to work remote which is a huge plus.

BrazilThe trash cans at the bathrooms were too small. Because of this, all the trash wouldn't fit in and there would be used toilet papers on the floor. The room space was very small since it was a capsule hostel, which made impossible for two people to get ready at the same time.
The location was great! It was very close to the bus station and the old town and other turist attractions. The beds were also very comfortable and big. We had a great night of sleep. Even with the dowsides, comparing with other accomodations prices in the city, it was the best place we could stay.

United KingdomNo shampoo in the shampoo dispensers. I think that the shower & loo facilities could have been cleaned more regularly/to a higher standard. There wasn’t an option to have the air con off in the room and I found it a little too noisy. I think the control was broken in my room as the buttons didn’t adjust it at all (room 247). I would have preferred not to have used the lifts.
I was so impressed with the hostel and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The shower facilities were much better than an other hostel I’ve stayed in. Brilliant extra touch of shampoo and shower gel, although sadly, all of the shampoo dispensers were empty. The bed was comfortable and the room was not claustrophobic which was something I worried about.

United KingdomClimbing up the ladder to get into bed. It was very tricky. If there was a handle just above the top step instead of on the wall, it would have been fine.
The location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the communal areas were comfortable.

GermanyIn the showers there bottles of shampoo were empty, most of the times toilet paper as well, two out of four toilets closed and uncomfortable beds (cheapest Ikea mattresses on a wooden board).
The breakfast was really good, for 12 euros. The environment is modern and the kitchen is very practical and convenient. The comunal areas were very enjoyable, opposed to the room where we just spent the necessary time. They kept out bikes in a closed room and that was very nice

IrelandI stayed in a space capsule . As a more mature traveler , it was a new experience for me . The rooms were quiet , with everyone respectful of others and essentially there to sleep . The bathrooms could perhaps have been a little cleaner but were not bad considering the volume of in and outs. You go here for the price and it is great value

NetherlandsThe bathrooms were shared which I knew when I was making the reservation, however I did find that there were times when there was no toilet paper available and there was no way to access the storage. Luckily, there were multiple toilets so others had some, but it would have been nice to have more available to use.
The location was perfect, walking distance to the bus stop and also the main sights of Ljubljana. It was my first time staying in this kind of property and it was a really cool concept and my room was bigger than expected too.

SwitzerlandThe rooms and toilet could be cleaned more regularly. The check in experience was not the best as I was not given any instructions on how to use my capsule, if I could purchase breakfast, any activities the hostel was organising nor if I needed help to get around the city
Great location between main train station and old town of Ljubljana. New facilities, spacious shower rooms and good vibe. Locker rooms to leave your luggage (need 1 Euro coin). Outdoor terrace/rooftop bar with beautiful views.

ColombiaThe bathrooms can improve, i think are not so well designed, the toilets shouldn't be mixed with the showers, also as a unisex space, needs more cleaning, the smell is not so good, and empty bottles of soap and shampoo.

NorwayCapsules are not noise proof at all and I could hear any noise around, and the capsules themselves produced some noise, it seemed like an air conditioner or so, so I had to use earplugs and still struggled to fall asleep. BelgiumThey cleaned the bathrooms in the morning, so everyone used them still before new people checked-in and arrived at a dirty bathroom. Didn't manage so well to arrange the airco in the capsule, so I woke up in hot and very dry air.
Awesome common spaces with lots of couches and little corners to hang out. Great location between the station and the city centre. Cool capsule pods to sleep in.
