AC was not working in 415 which had a lovely unobstructed view. Had to repack my stuff and was moved to 319 where the AC worked. View was not as good but comfort is paramount. AC was ok and room never got cooler than 72. Bed was firm which I prefer but pillows were flat. Used 3 to sleep, leaving my hubby with only 1. Food was ok, nothing special. Worst of all were the unfriendly bartenders! They were miserable and impolite except for Frank who worked in the lobby. We tipped everyone we asked for a beverage. Housekeeping yelled at me because I needed to go into the room while she was cleaning for 5 mins to change into my white outfit for the birthday beach party I was there for! Entertainment at the resort was ok at night, not much happening during the day. My hubby was playing music on his pocket speaker for our personal enjoyment and a rude security guard told us to turn it off or else! He was impolite and threatening. Mind you the volume was very low and we weren’t disturbing anyone! Other guests at the adult pool commented how bored they were and all were desperate for a bit of fun. Unfortunately, the Sonesta is where fun goes to die. We will never return! Recommend Morgan boutique hotel, in the area. There were a few bars and restaurants outside the hotel we went to at night. Hotel casino bartender was miserable. I would say it’s a management issue when majority of staff are miserable and rude. Very disappointing.

United StatesThere was no water watering for a day so no showers and no toilet flushing which was unsanitary. Their way of compensating us was 25% off one night which was insulting. We were told it was the whole building which wasn’t true it was only certain rooms. The staff there are not knowledgeable with questions that were asked during my stay. One and done for this hotel for me!

EgyptI booked an expensive room based on a private pool, that was mentioned multiple times in the description. our pool was not private at all, it was not only shared with the two rooms next to us but it opened into a bigger pool shared by anyone of the 1000s of guests, and on top of that it faced the breakfast restaurant without any barrier so even inside my room if the curtain was open everyone having breakfast could see all my room. we booked this place for a private romantic time and we couldn’t even step outside in peace once or open our curtains. on top of the fact that it’s a huge walk from the street to the room that def needs a golf cart and the conductor gets off at 7 pm and half the time they tell you sorry we don’t have a driver please walk. my boyfriend had surgery on his foot and couldn’t walk (and was mentioned in the booking and at check in) and they refused to even let me drive him inside myself when the golf cart wasn’t available. all in all terrible experience and will not be ever going back there

United StatesAs above, most things. My partner also has a nut allergy, we told the Italian restaurant, but they served a crème Brule with amaretto. This ruined the rest of our evening as my partner was sick way in to the next morning. We complained at the time and the restaurant manager was very rude and unhelpful. I then made a complained in person and on email the next day, but over the next 3 days we were still unable to speak to the manager. I expected compensation for 1 night that we lost through illness. The manager never returned our calls or was too busy to talk to us. We have since received an email stating that we lied about the amaretto incident but offer 10% discount from our last night stay. The general quality of the staff was poor, unfriendly, poor quality, forgetful, generally rude, all for $1600 a night per couple. The food was average at best, often came out wrong, and the buffet was 2* at best. It was hard work getting a drink by the pool during the day. Very very poor, do not visit!!!!!
Very average, buffet, but poor quality and the staff served it. So you either got too much or too little. You were also waiting just to get served food, strange with a buffet. The room service breakfast was pathetic and you were always waiting a long time for coffee when sat at the table. For $800 a night per person, the hotel was a disgrace, from management, staff and quality of the food and drink.

It was hard to fall asleep. customer service - really bad service except at ocean point terrace which was consistently good. check in and lunch immediately after was not great - it set the tone for the stay.

United StatesThis trip was for my wife's birthday. I must start with this. Have you ever had a hostess/ waitress (don't like to address them has waitress) ever made you feel number 1 in a restaurant! Well let me tell you about Jenneal! She was wonderful. From knowledge of the menu to listening what you want, changes to drinks or food to just being a lovely individual. She went above and beyond with some requests we asked. Because of her we ate at the Azul restaurant 3 nights in a row because of her. You guys request request her table if you can you won't be disappointed and her area has the best views of the water. Jenneal, Kerryann and Michael would like to say thank you once again for how you made our stay even more better with your great service!! Now to the rest of our experience. Upon arrival the staff made sure you felt welcomed! We stayed at the Ocean point adult all inclusive and you had access to both locations. We were greeted with a nice rag with a nice lavender smell and also a welcome drink. The hostess who checked us in was very pleasant, knowledgeable and great at what she does. I wish I could remember her name(sorry hostess. Our bellhop was also a nice gentleman. He explained the hotel and island. We stayed in the jr king oceanfront hotel. I must say the views was spectacular, room was big, clean, comfy, and also the rainfall shower head and water pressure was amazing. If you ever been to other islands the water pressure isn't strong but here at the Sonesta ocean hotel when I say pressure I mean pressure was great. All the staff was nice, accommodating and great people. Check out was good. Shavon took care of our check out and made it great with explaining everything. We recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone, you won't be disappointed!

Sint MaartenThe main pool is rundown and dirty, and had what appeared to be mold, and the staff is very rude, except bartender Cheryl Everyone else seemed to work very unhappy (only a few like two or 3 other employees were friendly). We have never received so many NOs at a suppose to be 5 star resort. They need to retrain everyone ASAP. All other guests that were with us thought the same thing. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. I actually had also another room under Michel Napolitano and we had the room for 4 nights.
