How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Shower not powerful at all. Some hooks/shelf in the bathroom would be very useful.
Great location, friendly staff. Comfortable budget hotel. Short walk from the pier and can walk easily to Sairee Beach also. Good air con. 7-11 just op.

Nothing, it’s a budget hotel and the price lives upto the place.
The staff was amazing. I got there in the middle of the night and called the number in reception. They answered and came to the place to give me a room. I went trough some things that night and the staff was so friendly and helpful. They even checked up on me the day after and wanted to know if I was okay, if I have eaten,..

I’ve stayed here before but in a fan room , this time I got an aircon room with bathroom , definitely the right choice . Short walk from the port and main streets which is perfect for me . I will always come here when diving on the island

There is definitely some road noise but that’s what you get for a convenient location! With the A/C or fan on we couldn’t really hear the road
The location of Ava 2 Budget hotel is really convenient - no more than a 10 minute walk from the pier and across the road from 7/11. Also walkable at Sairee beach which we did a few times! The staff were friendly, the room was clean albeit a bit tight but this is advertised so expected! All round, would recommend

Perfect location close to everything. Has hot water, mini fridge AC and a fan. Walking distance to everything. They offer hot water so I could have my tea. Second time staying with them and I recommend.

The flights of stairs to the room on the fourth level, photos of air-conditioning advertised and laundry ruined with stains after being handed in for service without them.
The location was central and accomodation was fair for its price.

Amenities.. only out of 5 toilets had a working light . 3 were missing toilet seats.. hot water was not working in any of the showers.. taps were broken shower heads were broken etc etc....

Overpriced. I had a bungalow cheaper than this in Ko Pha Ngan. They expect you to take your shoes off at the front door but no towel to wipe your feet, so sand all through the corridors and into the rooms, which I don't like. I had to ask for a little broom to sweep my own room everyday.. Hardly any of the other guests care about noise late at night. Seems a young crowd when I stayed, loud and drunk through the night. The bed was uncomfortable. The room smelled if you left the window closed. Think that comes from the bathroom, so keep that door closed. All in all, I wasn't to impressed with the price for such a bad experience. Worst place I've stayed yet in Thailand
It's across the road from a 7 eleven and the restaurant basically next door was really good. Guy with 2 woks stir frying. Epic food

Nothing. It was great.
We booked 3 nights originally - we ended up staying 11! It’s nice and central but in a quiet area. 10 minute walk from the pier. All the staff were so friendly.

Beds could do with a topper but otherwise all was good.
Great little hotel, perfect location stayed for 7 nights. Ac was perfect and blasted that beautiful cold air. Right next to 7/11 and great restaurant near by.

Room was ridiculously hot. 4th floor fan room is basically walking into hell so be warned. Opt for AC every time there or you will not sleep. Steps up to 4th floor are long so be prepared. Lots of showers and toilets per floor which is good but they are pretty dirty and had no soap or toilet roll. There was a power cut to the building at like 2am for the whole night and morning, tried contacting the host but they said it was an island outage ….. which was not true after other friends in hostels around the island said it was fine for them. This is really a budget hotel so just be prepared. It’s worth spending a bit more to get somewhere nicer.
The receptionist was so lovely and gave such a positive attitude constantly. Able to hire bikes here. Opposite 7 eleven. Close to pier. Big room and fridge inside.

The staff were great, happy with us extending our trip. We booked the room with no a/c and shared bathroom as we are on a budget and the owner kindly gave us a room after two nights with a private bathroom and air conditioning. I would recommend booking an air conditioning room when you come here as it gets very hot.

Hard to be too critical with the review as it’s one of the cheapest hotels on the island (or was at the time of staying) but it’s a very average hotel with dated facilities and lacklustre management. The shared bathroom doors have holes in and no locks, bed sheets not provided upon check in, frequent power cuts and no water supply, reception is ‘closed’ more often than not. If you can afford to stay elsewhere, do it.
Free water provided and a pretty convenient location on the island, directly opposite a 7/11 which is a guaranteed to have AC unlike the hotel.
