If you don’t have your own means of transportation be prepared to spend more on getting to and from here. The hosts helped organize a taxi though, you’re definitely not stranded.

I feel so lucky to have ended up in this place in Chumphon to rest between travel days. You couldn’t ask for greater hosts, they truly care about the place and treat their guests like family. They constantly brought me cold water and checked in on me since I was sick at the time. The tents are off the ground, safe and cosy. I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Everything was good!

Very remote, chill area. The bamboo hut we stayed in was in good condition, very well maintained, the bath was clean and everything functioned well. Because of the remote area it is usually necessary to have some kind of transportation but even if not, you can get everything you want there. Tommy & his father are very nice and helpful and are really willing to make you feel at home.

The downside of the beautiful and quiet location is that there are few shops and restaurants within walking distance.

A gorgeous little oasis of peace and nature just outside Chumphon. The owners are incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming. A stay at this hostel is inexpensive and includes an extensive breakfast. I stayed in one of the tents in the forest, where I felt completely safe as a solo female traveler. This is a place where you can leave your belongings lying around and expect them to still be there when you return. The tents are basic, but clean. The owners can arrange a bike for just 220 baht per day and there are many beaches around to visit where you will often be the only guest. This small-scale hostel is the perfect place to meet other solo travelers and retreat from the busy Thai cities! I hope to return here one day.

The best hostel I've been in Thailand! Tommy and his father are beautiful souls who really know how to take care of their guests! The energy and the vibes of the place are amazing, the breakfast is delicious, and the psychedelic setting is absolutely perfect! Highly recommended to anyone!

The only thing I would change is that I should have asked for an extra mattress pad because the tent mattresses were a little hard for my taste.

Beautiful campground and a little hideout in nature if you want to escape any busyness of the cities. Tommy and his dad were lovely hosts and made the stay extra special with breakfast in the morning and showing me around the local areas

This place is a hidden gem near Chumphon. We ended up here by chance after our hitchhiking adventure and couldn’t have wished for a better stay. A quiet place with great attention to detail and plenty of space for creative thoughts. Tommy and his father are amazing! Throughout our entire trip through Southeast Asia, we have never been as well taken care of as we were here at Bar Horizon. We stayed in the tent for 2 nights, and Tommy was so hospitable, taking us to the market and into town. A beautiful area to explore by scooter and relax. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

I had a great time at Bar horizon hostel. The place is very nice and Tommy the host is super friendly and caring. He showed me around the area, set up a camp fire and made rice-soup in the morning. I felt extremely welcomed. Don't hesitate to book your stay here!

Nothing! You will need a scooter to get around which you can hire there.

Tommy and his Dad were amazing hosts. The room we stayed in was really comfortable and we'll thought out - loved the seating area outside on the edge of the lake, very chilled! Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very at home. Love the psychedelic decoration, a really cool place to hang out, especially around the bar. We would definitely stay again - thank you Tommy and family!

Everything was perfect, the bed was comfortable, the room had aircon cooling, breakfast was good, hosts spoke good English and were very friendly. will definitely come back again when visiting Chumpon. Tommy also ordered me pizza before i arrived since i arrived at the location very late and restaurants were closed, very good service indeed.

Great place to come to to get off the beaten track, I booked on the way through from Koh Tao to Bangkok, ended up staying three nights. Run by a father-son team, they were excellent, took care of breakfast, scooter rental and taxi to the station. Nice quiet bar with locally crafted beers available. I stayed in the bedroom, with has lots of colourful lights for a good time :) P.S. did I mention they have dogs?
