You could not ask for nicer hosts. They absolutely went out of their way to help. Beautifully clean, and a lovely location. After almost two months in Thailand, finally a mattress, pillows and towels that weren't rock hard!

We've spent only one night in Captain Joe but we wish we could stay longer. The owner is amazing, taking care of her guests and their wellbeing. The room was quite spacious and very clean. The Internet connection was very good compared to other places we've been across Asia. When we arrived we got fresh cold water and a welcome drink (fresh pineapple juice). There is a restaurant / common area on the ground floor where you can chill. Shared bathrooms are big, very clean and well equipped. The owner also made us laundry at a very reasonable price. When we were checking out in the early morning, one of our yogurts fell on the ground and broke. The owner gave us 2 new yogurts from her own stack. Such a lovely gesture! If you're staying in Hua Hin don't hesitate and choose Captain Joe!

Nothing (although some people might not like the fact that the room I had only had a window overlooking a corridor, but I didn't think this a problem and infact, it helped keep the room cool.)

What a wonderful welcome. Such lovely, friendly, helpful and caring owners who did everything they could to make sure my stay was perfect. Spotless accomodation and bathroom. Everything you could possibly need was available. I highly recommend staying here and definitely hope I can return.

I didn’t like having to leave!

I had the privilege of staying at Captain Joe’s, and what a wonderful visit I had! Joy and Gun are a dynamic team, making sure to take care of every detail (from the delicious coffee and breakfast, to recommendations for local attractions, to help with my computer issues). They are welcoming and accepting of everyone, and check with each customer to ensure their needs are met each day. Their hostel is steps from the beach to make it even more magical. You will love your stay and feel like you’re in paradise here (and if you don’t, you must just be a grumpy human! 😂). Thank you to Joy and Gun. I can’t wait to come back!! 🙏🏻💗☀️🏝️

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, our experience at this hostel from nothing less than AMAZING. Ran by the most accommodating, caring couple who constantly checked in on us , asking if we were okay and offering us fresh juices/water. The hostel is in a great location, close to friendly restaurants and the beach front.

The owners here just couldn’t be more caring they’re really are adorable and do whatever they can to make your stay great. They constantly offer water as soon as you walk in and even changed my sheets & towel after 3 days of a 7 night stay. The breakfasts are perfect and It’s right in the beach and close to everything. As a plus, the bus can drop you at the top of the road soi 55 to avoid a longer walk from the terminus. The AC and TV were a plus I didn’t even realise they were in the room when I booked

What makes this Hostel more than great, is the couple that owns it. The Hostel itself is clean, rustic and close to the beach. Please do yourself a favor and chat with the couple, they're more than happy to. You might learn something new. Also, give the Thai breakfast a go.

Had a great stay at captain Joes , the room was comfortable and clean , every morning they made me a beautiful coffee and the nice lady always offered ice cold water from the fridge. Could not get better location, beach and night market a few minutes walk.

It was a memorable experience, especially due to the courtesy and politeness of the owners. They are very attentive to all the guests. It’s the ideal hotel for couples or families who are not looking for partying, drinks, and festivities but rather a quiet and cozy place to rest after a day of hiking or at the beach. I strongly recommend Mr. Gun’s "Thai milk tea"—the best I’ve ever had in Thailand. Hope we can back no meet them.

Everything about my stay was perfect! Location, close to Fisherman’s Pier, the beach, eateries and transport. Joy and Joe go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. They give recommendations of places to go and also how to get there. The facilities are spotless. The fresh coffee and breakfast one of my favourite things in the day. They always make sure you are hydrated with fresh cool water ready and waiting for your return.

I stayed at this small but lovely hostel in Hua Hin and can highly recommend it. It’s run by a local family and you can feel the personal touch and care in everything. I arrived quite late, but the owner stayed up to welcome me with a warm smile. The next morning, there was freshly ground coffee and water. My room was clean and well-equipped. The shared bathroom was also very clean and had everything you need, including toiletries. On my departure day, even though my bus wasn’t until 10 p.m., I was allowed to stay at the hostel the whole day and could even freshen up before leaving – such a kind gesture! If I ever visit Hua Hin again, I’ll definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for the great time and wonderful service!

The window faced the corridor instead of outside.

Spacious room with a big, comfy bed. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. The cafe downstairs was great to work from -and they serve excellent coffee! The hostel was very close to the night market and the beach. Above all, the people were wonderful and very accommodating!

There is nothing not to like about this place and the hosts.

This place is outstanding. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The hosts are so friendly, kind and helpful. Everything they do they do with a smile. When we arrived we were given comfortable sliders to wear, drinks were provided to cool us down and our luggage was taken to our lovely, clean spacious room. We wanted for nothing. The bathrooms were spotlessly clean and lovely toiletries were provided. The bed was extremely comfortable. There is a pleasant area downstairs where you can sit and relax. The property is ideally situated close to many amenities. The breakfast was delicious, the salad was fresh and crunchy. I have already recommended this place to people I met on the ferry yesterday. We genuinely loved our stay and were sad to leave. Should we ever visit Hua Hin again we will definitely stay there. Thank you to our perfect hosts for making our stay so enjoyable.

Excellent place to stay in Hua Hin. The hosts are incredibly kind and genuinely happy people. They welcomed us like family ❤️, thank you. It is also very close to the beach, the night market and not so far from the train station. Everything is at a walkable distance. The breakfast is beyond delicious and fresh. 100% recommended. We will be back.
