How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The hotel is more of a hostel. Unfortunately there is no main light in the room, instead strong lamps needed to light up each section of the room. The beds are wide hoever short, tall people may not be able to fully stretch out. Wifi is a bit choppy
The breakfast is adequate for the price. Accommodation is less than 1km away from the bus station which we used to catch a coach from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai. Staff were friendly and happy to explain how to use the services provided by them

The location is good, close to several shops and markets. The rooms have everything you need, and there is also a common area with board games etc. and a washer downstairs which was very handy. It is quiet, and we didn't hear any noise during the night. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. On the day we checked out, we were up at 5am and were kindly offered coffee while we waited for our pick up.

No windows in the rooms, hence dark and potentially smelly
Great hostel, great host. She helped with all the bookings, and the trips were excellent and cheaper than the travel agencies. Close to the bus terminal.

We only stayed a night - no issues but lacked a bit of character and atmosphere, so perhaps wouldn’t recommend to the social traveller staying a bit longer.
We were able to check in early and the staff were super accommodating, even preparing breakfast bags for the next morning when we were leaving at 5am! The room was clean and had everything we needed with private bunks and good amenities, including external bathroom facilities outside the rooms as well as inside.

The bathroom had quite a weird layout so it was hard to wash your hands etc because the door got in the way.
Nice, comfortable hostel in Chiang Rai, parking for rented scooters available.

The box around the power point over bed made it difficult to plug in universal power chargers
10 mins from the bus station/night market, self service laundry for 20bht. Good advice and map of what buses to catch to see relevant places. Breakfast included with eggs pancakes, toast and coffee. Key card entry to hostel and rooms with cupboard to lock your personal belongings away

Beds a bit hard.
Everything is super clean and staff is friendly. Breakfast is provided and you can let them know in advance any dietary requirements. I am vegan and they didn't have any options for me but they got me a few vegan snacks. I brought my own soya milk and bread as the one provided contains milk powder.

The shower wasn't great, but it was okay.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was great, simple, but tasty. The hostel is close to the night baazar and the bus terminal, you can definitely walk from there.

The property had the wrong address on booking and google maps led us to the other side of the city. Not sound proof and can hear cars
The property is comfortable and tidy. Good rooms, quiet air conditioning, good location and great location overall for backpackers

Such friendly and helpful staff, really lovely. Rooms were very clean. Great air condition. 10 minute walk to everything which was perfect. Breakfast included, loved the pancake machine, and the staff were happy to cook eggs everyday how you chose. Big area to chill with tv, games. And loved the filtered water machine as meant we didn’t need to buy waters - great!

The personal was so friendly. They cooked the eggs in the way that you want for breakfast. Also the breakfast is good, simple but enough. The place is clean and the location is good. They have also motorcycle available for rent.

The pillows were a bit uncomfortable and the toilet door was hitting the sink.
