Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaGreat place . Helpful staff and beautiful setting and pool . Reasonable breakfasts, good lunches and great rooms . Minor negatives are the pool was a bit cloudy for the entire stay - clean your filters or get the pool guys in …. Room a/c difficult to control and a weird assortment of tapware in the bathrooms . Location is a fair walk into the Lamai beach road and hotel is right on the ring road , so don’t book a mountain-view as it will be noisy .

Switzerland😟 The restaurant music is still a problem at the resort – it's less repetitive than before, but it sets a cheap tone throughout the day and can be heard from the rooms. It's easy to fix it: type on YouTube "Maretimo Lounge Radio" or "Luxury Lounge 2025" and get 24/7 quality lounge music for resorts. For breakfast: youtube.com/watch?v=fEvM-OUbaKs We hope this will be fixed soon and are happy to help set it up.
😊 Happy to see that the beach and garden look cleaner than two weeks ago. The team works tirelessly to keep the resort neat and accommodate guests' needs. Flexibility while enforcing quiet hours is key in tourism. Much appreciated.

Switzerland- The breakfast music is mainly two songs that repeat. Even if these two songs are instrumental, which is good, they can drive you crazy because they repeat no matter how much you ask to change them. The rest of the day, the restaurant music is cheap wedding pop and sometimes very loud, breaking the spiritual intention of the resort. This could easily be improved with new instrumental music, for example Tibetan bowls, or Handpan music from Hang Massive or Malte - This area of the beach has a lot of seaweed and plastic debris, and Samaya doesn't clean it as often as the neighboring resorts. For a beach resort, not cleaning the beach is like not cleaning the room.
The hotel offers a complete, seaside experience, with a spiritual twist. Breakfast that is actually edible, uncommon in Thailand, and varied, including Thai and Western options. The staff is lovely! Special thanks to them all.

United KingdomThe hotel's facilities were tired and some were inadequate. For example, the sliding door to the shower/WC in our room would not shut completely leaving a 2 inch gap - a good job my wife and I are not shy. There was no effective light to permit reading in bed (I used a torch!), as the lights were all either in the ceiling or hanging from same and thus no light was available from behind the reader. There was no soft seating in the room other than the bed. The worst thing for us was the traffic noise in our room at the front of the building. The double glazing kept most of the noise at bay when closed but using the balcony was no fun.
The hotel breakfast was acceptable and the location for same was convenient and pleasant but we preferred to utilise a beach front restaurant close by that offered a much better breakfast for the same price as the hotel's. The general atmosphere of the hotel was relaxed and open and it fronted directly onto the beach with safe swimming available in either the sea or the hotel's pool. The staff were excellent and the organization was good.

AustraliaThe pool area could have had a bit of time pulling out weeds and just making it a bit neater but this is all I can really complain about.
Nice location just at the begining of a fairly quiet but not too quiet strip. Friendly staff and clean and neat looking lobby, restaurant and room.

MaltaThe general condition of the whole hotel however is lacking, everywhere had a feeling of needing of a good overhaul. We rented their top suite there were many things that we found disappointing, the air-conditioning dripped pools of water on the day bed so that couldnt be used. The main door has gaps you could see the daylight from inside,so it was easy for bugs ect to enter the room. The shower head is at shoulder height so it's impossible to have a proper shower. The whole floor in the bathroom is wooden and loose . These things and many more we choose to overlook and enjoyed our stay. However we were very upset with our treatment as we departed the hotel. And this is why I have decided to point out the issues. We handed over the key and where told to wait while they checked the room before we left ! As there was no mini bar or snacks in the room I can only assume they were seeing if we had left it in a satisfactory condition. I have never had this happen in all my years of travel, I was then asked for the second room key which was a card entry key , I was told if I couldn't find it they would charge and I quote . Maybe around 200 Bart! This sounds like someone trying to make an extra bit of money to us, as it is not like a physical key which i woukd understand. These keys are set and reset lost ect all the time.Anyhow I ended up opening my cases in the foyer and found the key card in my handbag from the evening before. Off we go to the airport finally, I had prepaid at the hotel reception our taxi to the airport. We got out and went off to the check in where we were then accosted by the driver telling us that we hadn't paid for the ride ! I produced the hotels written receipt to show him and was still told to wait as the hotel couldn't confirm yes or no if we had paid. We told him we were going to check in and come and find us after to confirm which he never did. All in all we felt disappointed by the way we were treated.
Overall we found the staff to be nice. Breakfast was pleasant and the location on the beach is very nice. It is on the edge of lamai and there is an easy walk into town.

The hotel was great, in a good location. The staff was very friendly. We had the rooms with a sea view and the rooms were big and comfortable. I recommend if you are looking for a quiet place to relax but close enough to locations where you can have some distraction, either Lamai Night market or Chaweng Beach.

United KingdomWell, we felt that breakfast was basic. It also always came with rice and some meat as if it was a dinner set up. Luckily, they always had fruit and made eggs to exactly how we liked it. New Year’s Eve could be described, maybe as nothing special .
My family of six were in love with the whole place throughout our whole stay including people location the beach the kayaks on the beach the staff, the cleanliness everything the room is gorgeous. The view of the sea was phenomenal. i’ve had a parcel for Christmas, which was a Christmas gift for my partner and reception was able to help me by talking to the delivery person and eventually we got the parcel so was very happy. There is a Shala yo roof where me and my sister went to do yoga. There are mats. There is also a gorgeous spiritual corner where two guys hold strong bath. Unfortunately, I kept missing them but I heard it was fantastic.

NetherlandsIt is a hotel serving only vegetarian/vegan food. Nowhere was it mentioned when we proceeded with the booking. If we would have knows this we would not have booked this hotel. I think it is a very important information and one should be aware of that.
As mentioned it is a hotel serving ONLY vegan/vegetarian food. We did not know this in advance and therefore we found the breakfast less acceptable. The staff is very nice but even at the reception, the communication was a bit difficult. There was only one lady, whose English was good enough to communicate. THe hotel is rather old but at a nice part of Lamai. It is far away from the party area, which makes it quieter. The road along the hotel is rather noisy, so if you sleep light, choose the rooms with a view to the sea.
