Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt's definitely worth the extra cost for the location and wonderful service. The waterfall is amazing, and there are paths and bridges to wander and watch the birds, and the grounds were well cared for. Our room was wonderfully comfortable. One of the best parts of the stay was the very helpful and pleasant staff. Dinner was delicious, and we were able to have several friends staying elsewhere join us for good food and a magnificent view.

ThailandThe spa is very expensive and there are only very few treatments available, compared to what is advertised. The resort is quite out of the way, so the only way to get anywhere would be by bike or car.
This resort is like something out of paradise! The waterfall, the surroundings and the many birds are gorgeous! The room is so luxurious, beautiful decor, a private balcony, a giant spa bathtub with a rain shower attachment. The food was delicious and I could order drinks and food straight to my room.

United StatesThe taxi is overpriced, 800 baht for a 20min ride? Better to rent a car or wait on road for red truck. Bring a sweater, it gets chilly.
Paradise. Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Beautiful place, birds, waterfall, natural setting. Must see. Great food and not expensive. Very comfortable room with jacuzzi and river view. Staff is always friendly. It’s worth the effort to get there.

United StatesOnly issue is that some of the rooms but up to a highway. You can hear traffic during some times of the day. Not bad but noticeable. If that is a concern, request one of the rooms deeper in the jungle.
We arrived at Sukantara and my wife turned to me and asked: "Are we on our honeymoon?" Her question embodied the beauty and serenity of this place. Nestled on a waterfall deep in the jungle, Sukantara is a resort I have returned to and will return to in the future. It is beautiful. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious. It is a place where one can escape and relax. We traveled with our 1-year-old daughter and it was a dream. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. Couldn't ask for more.

BelarusWe couldn't use the swimming pool at our villa, it hadn't been cleaned by our arrival and the staff was not able to sort this out during our stay. You can hear the murmur of the waterfall all the time even at night. It has a calming effect, but you cannot be in absolute silence. Rooms are a bit rustic, some decoration elements are pretty old and it would be nice to have them renovated - like red Chinese style umbrellas.
The resort is located in a wonderful place by a beautiful waterfall. The staff feed ducks and peacocks, so they are very tame. You can hand feed them. One of the peacocks even came to our villa. Many colorful flowers and butterflies around. The nature is absolutely amazing. A lot of nice spots for photo shoots. Good wi-fi. Our villa was very convenient, it had a nice spot to chilling area with chaise longues in front of the pool and a picturesque view to the waterfall bridge. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The menu in the restaurant had a good variety of choices - Thai and Western cuisine, all the food was very good, especially local Northern dishes. Not that many insects for Thailand.

ThailandRooms are quite rustic so wildlife naturally finds its way, which I didn't mind until I saw biting ants on the bed. Luckily, the staff were very good - as soon as I told them they went to buy me a bed net so that I could sleep in peace the next night. The airport transfer is quite expensive, but well organised. The wifi is fine for social media and messaging but streaming video/live calls you might struggle with.
Location is very beautiful and less than an hour from Chiang Mai. Very relaxing to just sit next to the waterfall all day, good photo opportunities too, though Booking will only let me upload 1. Staff are very friendly and helpful with whatever you need and speak good English. Birdwatching - the resort has some resident birds as well as visitors and there is a guide in the room to help you spot them - leafbirds, bulbuls, drongos, flowerpeckers and more. The food was also tasty, especially the local northern dishes. I also didn't get bitten by any mosquitos - perhaps because of the running water, which is a real bonus!

United Kingdomtthey need to rid of the person or company that deal with their online bookings. The actual place once we got there is stunning and staff are lovely although not much English. The food is very good and we enjoyed our time there. It’s a real shame I had such a negative start. Booked and paid in full months before. Booked two rooms for 5 one of which is only a child on Booking.com clearly said all 5 included hotel wanted more for extra bed. We decided to get married while away so enquired about doing this while away. Got a reply saying not possible as a wedding is many man hours of work and we would need to book all the rooms and it would be very disruptive for other guests. The response was rude and upsetting as we in total would have been just the 5 still. For this reason we arranged to get married while on Koh Samui but first you have to visit the Embassy in Bangkok. You can only do this on. Tuesday or Thursday we we went to book for the Tuesday for some reason it was closed. I asked if I could move the dates by two days and cancel 1 of the 4 days paid for and use the money to pay against food. I sent numerous messages all ignored called time after time no English . Booking.com tried and got nowhere. I then said we would just stay the one night we would be there in original booking. Was told they would not allow us to stay. In all it took me 8 weeks to get this changed and we lost over 200 for the one night. We we got there was given the wrong rooms as we had booked two bedroom cottage with plung pool which quite a lot more in cost. No reason given why we did not get this and worse yet again no refund offered. Booking.com also refused to help. Rooms are nice but tired stunning location and staff helpful. The reason they would not do our wedding even more odd when we got there was only one other room occupied. As I run a small hotel for the life of me I still do not understand our awful treatment and nor could booking.com. It’s a lovely place but not worth stress
Very pretty

FranceI would have given a 10/10 if the hotel didn’t have two birds in cages, a parrot and another bird. Both are kept in tiny, dirty cages with bent bars. The parrot is plucking its feathers out of stress and boredom; it has no toys for stimulation, and its cage is far too small and unclean. The same goes for the other bird, which sings constantly and paces in circles inside its small, rusty, and dirty cage. There is a pile of droppings that has clearly been there for a while. I spoke with the hotel staff to try and explain that these were not good conditions and what should be done, but they didn’t seem very receptive. I find it really unfortunate there are plenty of free-roaming peacocks, so there is absolutely no need to keep two suffering birds in tiny cages. This is a major downside and significantly diminishes the value of this otherwise beautiful place.
A very beautiful hotel offering a magnificent view of the waterfall and the jungle in a peaceful and relaxing setting. The peacocks add a lot of charm to the place.

ThailandFor this price in Chiang Mai, this hotel needs a real refresh. Some little birds are trapped into small tiny cages at the entrance. Don’t think it’s acceptable…

RussiaDespite the animal-friendly positioning of the place, there were birds in very small cages right after the entrance :( Very sad and disappointing. Also, the remote location of the property makes you depend on their menu. It was disappointing to find only fast food options and no healthy or at least tasty food during the stay.
Nice experience watching peacocks and relaxing by the waterfall. The room was very comfy and nicely designed.

AustraliaA bit remote but we knew that- about 50-60 mins to central Chiang Mai. Meals not taken at the on-site restaurant require a drive. We went in the cold season and should have been better prepared for cold nights and mornings- would be perfect temp in warm season as the river and forest keep it cool. Recommend this place for a retreat where you are happy to stay on site and enjoy the nature and the peace. We had booked 6 nights but left after 3 as we wanted to be closer to food/ activities for our family of 4.
Location in nature, on a river. Nature abounds, traditional furnishings, having breakfast on the deck over the river. Swimming in the pool overlooking the river.
