Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe queen size bed was too small for two people and the mattress too soft (sensitive if someone moves) so I asked for 2 "mobile" mattresses and rearranged the room. Sandflies can be an issue on the beaches around if you are at the wrong spot at the wrong time (but that's of course not TK's fault) and can be seen also positive as they keep mass tourism off the island.
TK was great and directly on the beach. There are 3(?) types of bungalows but we went for the cheapest as we were on a budget. They had everything: hangers, A/C, free water refills, a desk, toiletries, fan, fridge, hairdryer, table and chairs, a broom, towels and warm water. Mosquito nets on all windows. Many Germans and other Europeans stay on this island so it's relatively quiet and cosy. TK rents out scooters for 200THB / 24hrs and they book boat tickets for you. One hour of kayak for free. Natalee - the owner's daughter was very professional and spoke quite good English. There is a supermarket just behind the fence.

We had number 1 villa, Seaview. Position absolutely perfect!! Great beach, near all restaurants, pier for boat to Koh Kood. Great patio area, needs a bit of updating. Large spacious room for 2 people, basic inside, but liveable! Great staff, and helpful owner! Superb island, great for bike, lov3d watching sun go down from the cocktail happy hour beach bar every night, Great vibe. I used to dream this villa house was mine, and think how I would make it something really special inside and outside !!!

United KingdomThe shower was a little bit cold and the room was basic, we could hear the noise outside so pack earplugs but wasn’t too much of an issue and would definitely stay here again!
The close proximity to the beach it’s literally on your doorstep! The staff were so lovely and helpful. You could rent kayaks for free also close to the restaurants.

BangladeshThe facilities and staff are very minimal. There was no turndown service in the 2 days we stayed in 2 separate villas. Even for water refill you have to do it yourself from the outside dispenser. Internet quality was very poor. We got better wifi connectivity with the restaurant outside from our rooms than the resort's wifi.
The location is excellent. Right in front of a great beach, and plenty of restaurants and shops just outside the resort.

United KingdomAt the end of the day the ‘resort’ is a collection of various bungalows that trade under TK Resort or Miss You resort ! They occupy the same plot of beachside land. Its general overall appearance is verging on ‘shabby’ with a laid back beach vibe that redeems it . After travelling in Thailand for two months we are used to basic accommodations but TK / Miss You could be so much better if the owners invested in some new mattresses and gave the bungalows some regular TLC. I understand fully the difficulties of island life but it’s not that isolated and as a builder a few thousand Thai Baht per bungalow would put a shine on the overall appeal. Sadly the owners are finding it easy to fill these bungalows with budget travellers and simply don’t see any need to ‘put the effort in ‘ to improve. The high score on Booking . Com reviews is dragged up by the great location and NOT the resort. Dylan and other staff make a constant effort to ‘clean up’ and sweep the Beach daily but overall the Islands Five Families ,who own it ,like to shout about green initiatives but need to do more to clean up and control / manage the constant beach detritus. ( Which is obviously washes up and is not their actual fault). Also for those unaware the Koh Mak SANDFLY is a viscous creature at dawn and dusk when it’s most active. The bites are very nasty so protection in the form of sprays, coconut oil and long clothing is a must !
Simply the location , next to beach and close to all other amenities including local shops, pharmacy ( required!!!)and very good choice of local restaurants. Dylan , from Nepal, single handedly ran the place and took care of everything as best as he could with a huge smile on his face and by the looks of it , very little support from anyone else. He was 10/10!

CanadaThis is on a ‘wilder’ beach and so when a storm came in, so did the pollution. The property was quick to clean our beach but neighbouring beaches were not so quick. There are some nearby stretches of beach that appear not to get cleaned as they are not resorts.
Sea view rooms were not the closest to the beach but the bungalows in front are so far apart that the view was still quite spectacular from our porch. We were able to snorkel right off the nearby pier and see as many different fish as we saw on a four island snorkeling trip from Koh Chang. The beach right in front of the resort was excellent. The resort was steps away from many stores, restaurants and shops. The property gave us free transport to our next stay on the island. We liked the laid back vibe of Miss You bar which had a pool table right on the beach. If we wanted more upscale, that was just a few steps away on either side.

United Kingdomwifi didnt work in the room contrary to what is said on the properties website, also kayak rental was abit more expensive than i assumed, 150TBH per hour and as someone who likes to spend the day on the kayak around the island it would added up to more than i would be happy to pay.
i liked the location, right at the beachfront and nice hammocks also near shops/restaurants which is conveniant

Host is nice guy. I like its privacy and cleanliness of the place. The location is also good beach front. Value for money, especially low season. Koh Mak doesn't seem to have a real low season, so it's kind of value for money to be there in low season.

ChinaWe were bitten by sand fleas - bring coconut oil because it is expensive to buy it on the island. The bungalows are clean, but they are basic and are getting a little old. The wifi was rather weak.
The bungalow was big, and with two big beds. It was very comfortable for us (couple with one kid). It is literally right at the beach - and what a beach! It was almost deserted, a few km of wide, golden sand beach lined with palm trees. The bungalows of TK and the neighbour (Missyou) are in a wide lawn with well-kept garden. There are hammocks at the beach and the veranda of each bungalow has two beach chairs. Inside we found facilities like a water boiler, cups and spoons, towels, shampoo, a TV and books. The manager was not there but he left his neighbour (Missyou) in charge, who was very helpful. The neighbour has scooters for rent to explore the island and its other beaches. There is no breakfast, but right across the street were 3 small restaurants with Thai and western options for breakfast and dinner. There is also a small minimart.

GermanyThere is no fridge in the sea-view bungalows. Other bungalows has it. But for this type of room, don't take any food inside the bungalow as you will have guests - ants 🐜.
Big clean territory with a garden on the seaside with a wonderful beach. Only 8 bungalows and a Thai massage spot under the sky. There is a wonderful place for feeling relaxing and enjoying a peaceful time on the island. Each bungalow is equipt with AC, kettle, and TV (however we didn't check if the tv works or not)

The bungalows are nicely spaced in a big garden that leads right onto the beach. Ivo had set up hammocks and nice hang out spots throughout the garden, which was a a really nice touch that made people feel at home. The restaurant was really great and everyone was so friendly. The Thai BBQ, grilled pork neck and grilled chicken were delicious. We really loved our stay and would highly recommend it. It is especially great if you are travelling with kids!
