Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. GermanyAt Vimarn Kaew we experienced the very best service we ever had. Staff were not only very friendly (as is mostly the case in Thailand) but absolutely went out of their way to fulfill our every wish, made little presents (to give but one example, they bought a painkiller cream to soothe my wife's bad foot), served little delicacies by the poolside .... Our pool villa was very spacious and comfortable. Everything was calm and relaxing. So, this resort is highly recommend if the location suits your needs. You need 20min by car to the Old Town and also around 20min to leave the city and drive into the beautiful countryside. There are no bars or restaurant in walking distance. The nearest 7-11 is 800m away.

United KingdomMe and my partner found the bed to be pretty uncomfortable, she didn’t like the mattress as it was quite firm, whereas I like a firmer mattress. But we both hated the pillows as they were pretty solid and not to our liking. Our room number was 5 which was connected to another room and had only but a wooden door separating us (which was permanently locked) but you could hear everything! Even when the other guests were having a low pitched conversation. One guest in particular, at our time of stay in the connected room, we heard noises he was making that made me want to be sick, along with the dirty movies he was watching!
Super clean, tranquil, relaxing and modern with a Thai twist. Breakfast was fantastic, supposed to stop at 10am but me and my partner would get back from Muay Thai at 10:20am and they’d still cook us a fresh breakfast, extremely appreciated. Staff super friendly and smily but defiantly have google translate on hand, as they speak little to no English, or maybe we should just learn Thai as we’re in their country. Rooms cleaned daily and smelling fresh, but if you’re smoker like myself and leave a joint in the ash tray, for a night time smoke……DONT! As I had my joint (twice) thrown away after the room being cleaned.

LaosWe stayed 3 nights with our 3 kids who enjoyed the swimming pool. The family room is big enough and comfortable for 5 peoples and is like we never left home. The personal staff is attentive to your needs and is pleasant. We will sure come back for our next trip in Chiang Mai.

The kindness of the staff was amazing. They strive to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Nothing is to much to ask for and they always have an amazing smile on their face. The facilities like the pool gym and rooms were fantastic and clean. The food was also amazing and are happy to accomodate any special needs someone may have.

FranceIt's a quite and calm area just outside of the center of Chiang Mai. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good, mixed Thai and continental, there is still something else to eat everyday. A rented car or scooter is recommended since it's a bit further outside the center, but this is something you know when you look for this place. The pool is also very nice, an oasis in an urban jungle.

FranceThe location is maybe not ideal but if using the Bolt app, it is not a problem, 130-150bath and 20min later (depending on traffic) you are in old town.
The staff/owner are absolutely incredible, rarely experienced something similar. The place is well maintained and the room spotless. The bed was confortable too. They have a laundry service which is perfect. The pool in a nice addition to the whole thing. Also, you get free coffee in the morning.

United StatesIt was far away from the center of town and was very difficult to get a ride, granted our stay was during the holiday Loy Krathong but we didn’t get much help from them front desk either. We ended up walking almost a mile before we could catch a tuk tuk. The room was clean minus the trash not being taken out. The cost of the room was double what it normally is due to festival pricing so was a bit of a bummer that these things weren’t up to par. It would have been really nice to have a shuttle service of some sort.
The pool was amazing and the room itself was absolutely stunning.

AustraliaI must mention that the other staff members were truly exceptional and made our stay more enjoyable. The pool was stunning. The place is quiet so this was very relaxing and is a good invitation to meditation. The room was comfortable and well-appointed.
We had a rather disappointing experience at Vimarn Kaew Resort in Chiang Mai. Cons: The receptionist girl was rude and unfriendly, barely glancing at us or greeting us. She should learn customer service basics. Since the hotel is located outside the city center, it’s inconvenient to explore the city or other areas. The receptionist didn’t provide any assistance in arranging taxis or offering any advice on activities in Chiang Mai. Therefore we decided to go to the city and booked a tour. Since the hotel is out of town, they wouldn’t pick us up. The tour agency tried their best to arrange a private transfer for us and tried to organize something with the hotel but the receptionist didn’t pick up their call so we had to cancel the tour. Also there’s no restaurant on-site (for dinner), so you’ll have to venture into the city. However, finding a taxi can be challenging and time consuming. Once again the hotel doesn’t offer any assistance, you have to deal with it on your own. To avoid this kind of inconvenience, I strongly recommend renting a bike or a car.
