Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe location is a bit far up the hill if you are walking - consider renting a scooter if you decide to stay.
The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast plate was plentiful. The staff was really helpful. I arrived during a storm, so being higher up the hill and trees was great. The other areas were significant, and the hostel near the main road was flooded.

United KingdomThe noise from the power station nearby can be heard day and night. However this is mentioned at the time of the reservation so it didn’t come as a surprise. Get yourself a decent pair of earplugs and you’ll be sleeping fine anyway.
Lovely place, great friendly staff, clean and comfortable bed with a beautiful view of the surrounding trees and nature. I had breakfast included and it was delicious. I would return. :)

SpainNobody told me breakfast was only available after 9. There is a power plant with an energy generator very close by so it’s pretty loud in there. Room’s isolation is ok though.
Surrounded by nature. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast is great but it’s only served after 9, so not very convenient.

SloveniaThe rooms are quite small and the bathroom is nothing fancy, but it does the job. - if you don't drive motorcycle, it takes approximately 38 min to Sairee beach on foot and 20 min to Mae Haad Pier. Something to have in mind. The path to the hostel is a little steep but nothing alarming. - There was quite a bit of noise from generator or something similar, which may distrupt your time there.
Great breakfast options, however the breakfast starts at 9 am, so if you are doing diving courses a little late. But you can take a smoothie instead later in a day. - Very kind and accomodating staff.

EstoniaAll the constant humming sound from nearby power plant wasn't possible to ignore - 75db all night long in the bed was something that I didn't expect when booking. Water for showering was a bit too cold for me but at least it woke up pretty well!
Breakfast was great! Nearby power plant probably fully charged all the batteries and cold shower gave each day a great start!

GreeceStaff could be nicer, and there’s not enough space inside the bed to put a few things. Toilets have run out of toilet paper one morning. It definitely looks better in the photos.
Overall a nice and comfortable stay, location is good but you need a scooter regardless.

SwitzerlandThere was somethink like a generator that was making a really loud sound 24/7. im a deep sleeper so it wasnt as bad, you also can have free earplugs there. But maybe for someone with a really light sleep it wouldnt be the best.
Amazing place to stay in, great bunkbeds, everything is in a kind of industrial theme, if you have a scooter the location is great. But bc of the small island everly location is probably great you can get anywhere in 15mins by scooter.

IndiaDorm floors could have been cleaned at least after 3 days. Secondly, since there was a less staff it was difficult to carry big luggage bag from dorm to the main area through stairs. I understand that staff can not be always available, in such cases the travelers needs to be informed about this aspect before hand.
This was the very first hostel which I found was matching with what was shown in the online pictures. Really helpful.

SloveniaThere is a ferry loud factory next door so there is always some white noise present. Kitchen randomly closed so we couldn't get breakfast. A bit far from town, too far to walk from port but if you have a bike it's perfect.

PhilippinesDuring my stay, the electricity cut off twice. While I believe the entire island of Koh Tao was affected, I didn’t feel entirely comfortable. The staff leaves at 8pm, and with not many guests around, it felt unsettling being alone in the jungle. It would be helpful if lamps were provided, as relying on my phone flashlight added to the anxiety of the situation.
This property is truly a gem. Waking up in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by nature through a glass wall, is an experience beyond words. The attached bathrooms are adequate, and the overall facilities are excellent. It's a great choice for travelers looking to relax away from crowded areas, although the generator is quite loud (as many have mentioned). However, earplugs are provided in the room and work well to address this. For solo travelers looking to socialize, this might not be the best fit. The place is ideal for groups wanting a comfortable space to hang out together. I would have rated this a 10, but aside from Zaw (the very helpful Burmese staff member at reception), I didn’t feel the same level of service from the rest of the team. P.S. It's a must to have a bike to get around, even if it's just to buy something to eat. The best part is that the best beach for snorkeling with baby sharks is only 3-5 minutes away.

Polandthere are only two issues: 1. it’s loud. There is power plant nearby and noise lvl in restaurant / reception is even up to 73db all the time. In my dorm, lvl of noise is up to 55db (measured with Decibel X app). They provide free ear plugs but it’s still not comfortable seating outside the dorm without headphones with noise cancellation. 2. it’s far from town. I though it would be a bit closer to town, but you need to have a scooter to go around. You’ll find a supermarket and some coffee shop within walking distance, but „entire life” is a bit further. If you want to work during your stay you might be forced to find a cafe nearby and move there unfortunately.

FinlandCharging plugs were kind of loose, I had to put my pillow in certain in order to charge my phone since the charger didn't stay there without support. Another unpleasant surprise was the power plant next to the property which was so noisy and there wasn't really information about it but they had free earplugs to reduce the noise.
Property was very nice and clean. Beds were comfortable and cozy and they had curtains so you had privacy in case you wanted. Location was alright, I rented a scooter so I had no problem to get around from the property but I wouldn't recommend to stay if you don't have a bike.
