The entrance is tucked into an alleyway not facing the main road, hence some time was taken to find it. Building next door is undergoing construction so if you had a late night, you might be awoken by noise when sleeping in.

The room was not as clean as I expected, the window still had dust, it looked like no one clean it from the beginning The curtain in my room was broken a bit Although the neighborhood was quiet, the soundproofing of the building was really a joke. I could hear the people from the upper floor talking, and everytime they use the bathroom, I knew because the sound was very loud

Beds were not super comfy. Bathroom was very small (shower almost over the toilet).

Good value for money. Staff were helpful booking us taxis and helping us reserve restaurants. Having a small fridge in the room was really helpful!

If checking in after 6pm, they expect the fees to be remitted to them beforehand, even if you’re a foreigner without a Taiwan bank account. Prior to checking in, they were asking me to remit the fees to them - I told them that I didn’t have a Taiwan bank account and I am a tourist. They asked me to find a platform to do so. They do not accept cards, making it very INCONVENIENT and TROUBLESOME. Fine, I remitted the amount via Revolut as an overseas transfer from Singapore and told them it’ll take 3 - 5 working days. It was such a hassle having to keep checking if the SWIFT transfer has completed and the amount has been credited into their account. I even put a cash deposit of the hotel fees the day after I reached as the overseas transfer hasn’t gone in. On the last day just before I checked out, the overseas transfer still has NOT completed and I was prepared to forfeit my additional cash deposit. - at least the staff went to check with their bank and the amount is indeed transferred but takes sometime as it was in SGD.

The place is very comfortable, clean and the room even has a washing machine in the balcony. Very good value for the price.

We paid extra for a balcony, but this was tiny and had no furniture on it, and therefore essentially unusable and not something I'd recommend doing. The room was no smoking, however other guests on the floor were smoking which meant that the corridors smelt.

The room was simple, clean and functional. The staff were helpful at check in/out and spoke good English. We didn't have any issues with mosquitos. The hostel is close to Taichung Second Market which is a nice place to get breakfast. There are good bus links.

We were bitten by mosquito in the room. Hotel provided a plug-in mosquito repellent device but we have no desire to use it. Did not want to breathe in potentially harmful chemicals. Luckily we found the mosquito hiding in the curtain and managed to kill it by hand. Hotel provided a washing machine in the small balcony but it was so dusty and dirty. We avoided using it in such a poorly maintained state. Location of the hotel is so hard to find. There is not a single signboard at the main road (Sanmin Rd) pointing out the hotel inside the small lane. And worse of all, the hotel building has no signboard at all! No name whatsoever. Lastly, the service quality of the staff is wanting. We want to go to Yizhong Night Market and asked for direction. Staff's short unhelpful reply was - 'take a taxi'. We were not amused. Anyway, we found the night market just a few street away. It could very well have been explained to us by a more conscientious staff. In any case we remain polite to the last and enjoyed the cleanliness of the room.

Strangely, the streets around the property were a bit lacking in life.

the property appeared to be quite new and was close to the bus line linking the city to the airport. Close to a good night market and other transport.

property makes check-in difficult (you need to call ahead, they only take cash, only provide one key card.) The room was very very expensive on a holiday weekend for a very basic room. room was quite cold and property quite noisy. front desk often empty, such as in check-out, making the whole experience extremely impersonal.

SO MANY MOSQUITOES!!!! I think we killed like 10+ during our whole stay. Sound insolation is poor, we can hear people talking outside.

They're attentive with our needs. They also do house cleaning every day and can also use washing machine for free (with detergent at lobby)

A smallish (14m²?) room but with all you need for a short stay. Nice balcony for fresh air. Staff at reception were especially helpful as our train was delayed and we needed to pay only in local currency ( no credit cards accepted??).

I booked this hotel because they have check-in until midnight. But it is not true. I arrive there before midnight but nobody is there. I call them and they say they are onsite only till 18. But info on booking.com is that until midnight! There are keyboxes with code to open, so i ask them to give me the code as i am in a hotel already and they have my credit card. They say they cannot because i need to pay in cash. I say i will pay cash in the morning when i check out (and you also have my credit card details just in case). Still they do not want to give me code. I had to go at night and search for other hotel! They provide false check-in information and stubbornly demand cash upfront even if they have credit card and all my details from booking.com Please check check-in info and if it is showing still that it is till midnight - do not trust it at all and ask them to correct it!
