Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeInternet is moderate inside the room. Can be improve.
View from room is scenic , however the weather is misty when we were there. Room is clean and well maintained. Heater for room and bathroom is a plus as it get very cold a night. There are 3 dogs, one of them actually guide us to shop area 300m down the slope. Breakfast is delicious, vegetarian option is available. I like their milk tea.

SwedenThe room was not cheap, but it was definitely worth it!
I don't usually give reviews online but felt like I had to in this case. This was by far the best hotel experience I have experienced so far. The hotel is located conveniently next to tea and mist trail / eryanping trail. It is only 30 minutes to the highest lookout point for sunset view from the hotel (just follow the road behind the hotel). The staff was very accommodating and friendly and they even make breakfast fresh for you in the morning. The highlight the hotel was by far the views if offered. The hotel is facing the perfect angle for sunrise viewing and if you are lucky you can enjoy your breakfast outside and enjoy the breathtaking views. The dogs also made the stay more personal:) The rooms was also good and clean.

MalaysiaComfortable stay, clean, neat, owner explained the facilities and how to walk to Er Yan Ping in a professional way, not over talk-active but just adequately giving welcoming intro. The environment & vibe is great, would be perfect if the weather allows. Dogs are cute. 星星- the black dog accompanied us to Eryanping. What a nice experience. The breakfast is luscious.

MalaysiaEverything is perfect except too short for our stays there. We definitely would come back again.
This homestay location is perfect to go Er Yan Ping for hiking or sightseeing. And we love the dogs especially Xing Xing, he is so friendly and protective, he would make sure we follow him back home after the hike. The sunrise view is also perfectly right in front of the homestay. We did not need to wake up early for the sunrise view.

The staff were very helpful and friendly (they booked me a table at the local hotpot restaurant both nights) and the dogs they have are lovely. The hotel is very easy to reach by bus as the 7329 stops in Xiding village and then it’s only a 5 minute stroll up a side road. The Eryanping trail is within 30mins walk and they provide a simple map to help you reach it, I went up there for the sunrise and it was beautiful. The room was clean and breakfast in the garden each morning was wonderful, with a breathtaking view of the mountains.

This was a family trip, we booked three rooms, all of them were spacious. It was quite cold in Alishan, but the hot water supply was very good. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the white Shiba Inu was in heat and had been isolated and taken down the mountain, so we only saw the other two dogs. The staff sister recommended us to go up to see the sunset, but unfortunately, due to the haze, we didn't have a clear view. However, the location of this homestay is quite good, and our room had a view of the sunrise. Overall, we were very satisfied.

SingaporeThere is no lift in this small property, so best to travel light cuz the stairs are challenging. For those who are terrified of cold, avoid coming in Winter as there are no heating facilities in the rooms, bring an electric blanket if you have one.
Staffs were extremely polite and helpful, helped carry our heavy luggages up two challenging flights of stairs. Luckily our rooms were on Level 2, not 3. Rooms had fantastic views and breakfast was yummy!

SingaporeLocation wise was very out of the way. Only public transport available were buses which we had difficulty figuring out their schedules for. Few options for meals within walking distance but the bus can bring you to an area with more food choices. It was sad that the weather was so cloudy. We wanted to see sunrise/ sunset but didn’t manage to because of the clouds. Would recommend staying 3-4 days so that there would be higher chances of successfully appreciating sunrise/sunset there.
Breakfast had a home-cooked heartwarming vibe. It was good! I love dogs so having the homestay’s 2 dogs to wake up to/ come back to just made me love my stay even more. The staff were thoughtful, the season just turned cold and they started using winter blankets which kept us really warm at night. A short bus ride down (about 2 stops) and there’s pretty good food options. There’s also a convenience store near the homestay. Met the dog (not from this homestay) who brings visitors down the little hill to the bus stopツ

United StatesYou can sense that the property is severely lack of a good management. The room is small without table or shelf to put luggages. The furniture is stuffy and outdated. The bathroom is dirty and moldy. The most disturbing thing is to see the reception, kitchen and dinning area is jammed with stuff, totally disorganized and unpleasant!

United StatesUp on a hill, which is fine if you’re coming with a car. But it would be a struggle if you’re taking the public bus and need to walk up with luggage. The good news is the owner and helper will come to the nearest bus station to pickup your luggage, so the walk up is only 6 to 8 minutes up hill.
Excellent location to see sunrise and sunset. Clean. Delicious breakfast. Excellent services. Friendly owner.

United StatesAlthough the room was cleaned, but it’s also clear that the hotel really hasn’t had the chance to do a deep cleaning. For example, the two huge window curtain were speckled with lots and lots of stains. The towels were clean, but all of them had that over-used, over-washed smell. While the location is part of Alishan and the view was excellent, the location is actually quite far (>1 hr bus ride) from the official Alishan park, if you are thinking about relying solely on public transportation (like we did), and wanting to visit the park, then this B&B’s location is not very convenient.
On the one hand, Location was excellent (extremely close to Eryanping trail) and the view from room 206 was absolutely breathtaking. Furthermore, it was only steps away from the bus stop, and an excellent hotpot restaurant. The staff, especially the owner, was super nice and accommodating.
