Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

TaiwanThis is a very clean place. The owner puts in a lot of work to keep it up. The host was nice, made a pot of tea for me without asking when I was sitting there working alone. Just the room is a bit small, a heads-up so you won't be surprised. Overall it's a pretty good experience, I would stay there again if passing by alone.

United KingdomThe room has no window, it is fairly small, and the bed is on the upper level, which requires climbing a very uncomfortable steel ladder. The upper room doesn't have light switches, so it's really inconvenient. The shower is part of the bathroom, which gets completely flooded when you shower. Also there is no reception. I was lucky someone helped me, and called the owner, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to easily get the room keys
The breakfast was very good, they offer free food (instant noodles, etc)

AustriaIf a room has no window we expect that this is mentioned in the description The steep ladder, that we saw in the picture, was not a place to hang up your clothes, but to climb up to the bed, which is quite difficult and only for sporty and slim people The light in this bedroom you can only switch on and off in the small room below, so you need to climb in the absolut darkness or bring your own torch It is impossible not to flood the whole bathroom when you take a shower Breakfast is a few minutes to walk in a breakfast stall, you get just fried eggs or similar in a plastic box and a small milktea
A very smart house There is a comfortable living room in the ground floor and we were lucky that there were no other guests to use ist, because it is not too big We were allowed to store the bicycles in the livin room
