How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Facilities are a lot more worse that advertised. Electrical wires, multiple extensions, dangling hazardously.
Location and value for money. Right in the heart of Taipei, near Taipei main train station.

The bed was almost like a board, quite hard. We booked for two adults and one child, we all had to sleep on the one bed. There was enough space but an additional bed for the child would certainly have been desirable.
The Hostel was very low cost, the key left at the desk for us to pick up so no problems with check in. The room itself is aged but at least clean, the bathroom also acceptable for the price. A centralised Air Conditioning kept the room comfortable despite the humid conditions outside. The location is also convenient, close to the Tapei Main Train station (Take Exit Y13 from the shopping mall that the station is connected to). The Staff (owners and son) are friendly as as helpful as they could be. Check in and out, which for us were well outside "normal" times, were no problem. For a simple place to stay with absolutely no frills and for the price paid, it is absolutely acceptable.

The bed was incredibly hard and some evidence of mold in the room.
I booked the hostel as a "day room" while in transit from Europe. I booked on the basis of price and location (near the Main Station. Given it was a hostel and based on previous reviews, I did not have high expectations but for a shower and a rest it suited our need. The staff responded quickly to all communications and assisted with an early check in. With a range of shops nearby and a 7-11 store close by the we were happy. The shower was hot, with basic amenities and air conditioning and a good price. The bed was very hard but we were so tired we did sleep but I would not have wanted to stay too long,

The AC cannot be controlled in each room, but they do offer extra blankets. That being said, it would be wise to pack a long sleeve night shirt. Also, there is no sprayer/bidet for the toilet
Affordable. Accomodating and friendly family owners. Super close to Taipei Main Station and the airport metro line. It is an older hostel, but it was clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

The staff was extremely kind and very accommodating. The room was very simple, clean - great if you’re low maintenance and looking for a place to crash! Great location as well, super easy to get around and good eats in the area.

The room is a bit small, but the picture clearly represents that so I don’t conceder it a complaint.
The bed is comfortable, and it’s a great stay for a solo travel if you are tired from dorm rooms and need a bit of privacy. A private bathroom, free toiletries and a towel.

The hostel is within walking distance of the Taipei main station. The room was quite clean and sufficient for a short stay.

The bed isn't that comfortable. If you have a huge luggage, it would be inconvenient for you since they don't have an elevator and the stairs are a bit steep. For some reason we cannot connect to the wifi and the window in our room is broken considering it's winter, so it's too cold. No food storage such as a mini ref inside the room.
The checkin was fast, not much of anything was needed just show your reservation, and everything is already prepared. We just grabbed the remote and the keys at the front desk. Good thing they are considerate that they gave us a room near the front desk since I traveled alone with my child.

My room’s bathtub had broken tiles and the hanging rack looks hap hazard. I am all for DIY stuff but the workmanship is questionable. I killed a cockroach. 😄

The room is not clean, literally there was trash under the bed and the bathroom was not clean at all. The whole building is dirty. I do not recommend staying here if you are a person that appreciate cleanliness. Wierd because in Taiwan everything is super clean and tidy. The owner probably is not Taiwanese (personal assumption).

Room and bathroom so grimy and in need of a clean. No lift and loads of steep stairs. Cockroaches and ants in the room. Hole in the bathtub that was just covered over with tape. Very noisy corridors.
