Great location and wonderful hospitality offered by the owner of the hostel, Angela. Impressively clean and well equipped with all what a traveler may need. In addition, it is a great place on getting a good advice on “what to do and see in Hualien besides Taroco gorge.”

Cozy common space. Have got a dog and cat. There is a piano and guitar which sometimes the owner plays calm music :)

Air conditioner was moldly and imparted a bad smell in the room. Additionally, the animals were really cute but they were so dirty that they made the whole hostel smell wherever they were

I loved my stay in this hostel, I had a single room that was incredibly clean and comfortable, which was surprising given how affordable it was! The atmosphere there is very relaxed and the owner is amazing! Plus, she has the cutest pets ! I recommend!

You receive a message to say don't arrive before 3pm as no one there. I arrived at 4pm. The owner didn't arrive until 8pm lucky I found the volunteer working there who showed me to my dorm. Asked if I could use a glass and wasn't allowed as it was a water glass and not a glass for beer and the glass would smell after use and she was stood right next to a dishwasher. Not very well advertised only a small sign outside on the road side

If you arrive when no one's there, it's a bit hard to find where exactly the entrance is or where it is appropriate to wait for staff to check you in. Downstairs common area is currently under construction, Whis is why it was confusing. A quick call and this question was solved. In the morning, the big entrance was closed so I had to exit via the unassuming back entrance, which didn't seem intuitive or was introduced before. So I copied a fellow guest that came by luckily.

Lazy House provides everything that a typical hostel provides. House shoes inside, shower gel and shampoo, drinking water, kettle, hairdryer, washing machine, (however, not towels). I'm very satisfied with the cleanliness. Easy to find if you exit via the back entrance of Hualien train station

Everything was good!

When I arrived in Lazy House I directly felt at home. The common area is nice, the music fits, the people are chill and the hostel dog always wants to cuddle. Other plus: the owner of the hostel plays the piano every night. And she helped me with planning everything for my stay in Hualien. Which trails to do in the national park, where to rent a scooter and as well as bike for my trip along the east coast.

Only one bathroom and the bedroom and beds were just okay.

Nice chill out spaces and friendly staff. Decent kitchen with free tea and communal fridge.

Was far from town centre.

Decent homestyle hostel very close to the station. Rooms clean and spacious. The only downside was the lack of atmosphere, it was deathly quiet over Xmas, and interaction with staff, which is quite typical in hostels in Taiwan.

Facilities could have been more up to date. The room was located close to the street, so you could hear all the cars and motorbikes passing by as there was little noise isolation, so I had to get earplugs for this reason. It was really like all the windows were open, even though they were firmly closed.

Really nice vibe and good place downstairs to relax and meet new people Clean and comfy rooms overall. People coming here seem very nice in general. Location was also great. The host is very kind, very attentive and really makes you feel welcome.
