Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Nice hosts. Very clean and spacious room. Nice breakfast. On-site parking. We thought the location is in the middle of nowhere but actually there are quite many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. We traveled during a 4-day long weekend so all rooms were sold except ours which is the cheapest because of a few reasons. Its bathroom is outside but exclusive for our use so we don’t have problems with it. Also, our room doesn’t have air con or heater but it has an electric blanket so it was warm enough for spring. If you are traveling in hot summer or cold winter, you might want to pick other room types. The room is next to a room where the owner worships their ancestors (my guess) so the smell from burning incense is relatively strong.

IrelandNice couple running the property. I was leaving too early for breakfast so they went to the grocery store and made me a packed breakfast instead! The views are amazing! Sunrise from the rooftop is a must particularly if the cherry blossoms are out as well!

SingaporeDon't go for the star viewing service they recommend, go to hehuanshan yourself if you want to see the stars. The guide took us to some random location and smoked during the session, also, we had the exact same view from the bnb itself so what a waste of money. His driving also gave us carsickness and I don't usually suffer from that.
View was amazing, breakfast is the same daily but it's free so nothing to complain about, things to note is that the window actually turns into a mirror at night haha so don't hope for night views inside your room, that took us by surprise. But extremely worth it overall, the hosts were extremely helpful and friendly.

United StatesTV was small with limited channel selection and the wifi didn't work (we didn't bother asking them to reset as we could hotspot), but we were there for the views and nature anyway.
Everything was great - I'd love to come back and stay in a more premium room! We loved the spacious room and the views. The place was exceptionally clean and the staff was quite helpful. The breakfast was yummy with beautiful views of the valley.

What did I like ? Everything. It was a perfect stay. I am travelling for 7 months in all Asia and can say staying at Tian Hsiang Tea B&B was one of my favourites stays. I am usually staying in hostels and am not used to this degree of care but I don't think you would find this caring in most of the guesthouses. Austin and his family really pay attention to your needs, help you in any way (mountain climbing itinerary and organisation, advises). I extended my stay and did not want to leave. Austin helped me to change my following booking and helped with the language. He also made sure I was safe in the mountain as I was alone, and took care of my vegetarian breakfast. The family even gave me a tea souvenir. Their home is a little nature paradise, the rooms are cosy and beautiful. I felt more than welcomed here and it reminded me a bit of home. I rarely let comments but I had to, I hope other people will discover this lovely B&B and want to share my luck. Thank you Austin, thanks to your family. I hope I will come back once in my life.

CanadaEverything is wonderful.
If you are a tea lover, you will definitely enjoy your stay at the Tian Hsiang Tea Bed and Breakfast. We found our experience truly special. It is a family business and everybody is super kind and friendly. Tian Hsiang Bed and Breakfast is conveniently located, within 3 minutes of a bus stop. You can take buses to go up to the CingJing farm or to TaiChung high speed train station (or Puli or TaiChung train station). We loved our room. It is a lake view room with a balcony. It is very spacious for our family of 3. The view from the window is beautiful. We are looking forward to returning to this wonderful bed and breakfast. If you are looking for high quality Taiwanese high altitude teas, this is a place for you! We tasted both their oolong tea and red teas, they are very special. Their teas are very reasonably priced. We highly recommend this place for your visit to central Taiwan!

MalaysiaThe toilet area is a little bit small and they are using yellow light which is unfriendly for make up. The blanket is a bit too thick for the weather as the room does not have any air-conditioner.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They advised us how to tour around the area and helped us to book restaurant / taxi. The scenery is very nice. The breakfast is perfect! I could eat it for one whole week.

SingaporeThere were quite a bit of mosquitoes when we first checked in around 3pm+ (might have been the time of the day) but we didn't have any issues after that.
It was a lovely one-night stay as we did a mini-road trip to the Cingjing/Hehuanshan area. The B&B owner was very helpful in giving us suggestions for hikes and trails in the area. The breakfast provided was hearty and comforting. The room was clean, we had everything we needed. The view of the mountains from the room was breathtaking.
