The guest rooms are at the top of a steep slope not the best with a suitcase or big backpack to access, especially while leaving it was raining. Just a small detail for less mobile guests.

The room is really small, maybe a bit more than it appears in the photos (although I knew it was a small room). Just space for the single bed and your luggage, but it's not bad for one night.

The place is a small hotel in the lower part of the mountain. It's ideal if you want to do the Mist or the Eryaping trail. I stayed in the small room, and it is cozy and fair, but it is maybe too small for more than one night (ideal if this is the case).

Per construction, this house doesn't have any sound insulation, and you can pretty much hear guests in the other rooms completely. No wifi (as the name suggests).

A wonderful location close to the bus stop, eating places, convenience store, and hiking trails, and with it's own sunrise viewing terrace. The room is very cozy and clean, I liked the old countryside house vibe. There is a good shower, and kitchen with hot drinking water available anytime. The owner was very kind, provided information about where to get delicious local dinner, and included a complimentary package of tea from their own production.

It is an old building that has been renovated thus sound proofing is not the best. Light sleeper should bring their own ear plugs. There are 2 bathrooms to share among guests and they were kept cleaned. There is no WiFi but mobile network reception is quite good. The share kitchen has a lot of stuffs but they are not well organised, will be a challenge if you want to cook a proper meal. Please also note that you need to walk up a slope to enter the guesthouse from the entrance gate

Great location with easy access to bus stop, 24 hr convenient store, tea houses and restaurants for hot pot. It is also close to the Eryanping Trail (二延平步道） and a 45 mins walk uphill can take you to the observatory point which is famous for viewing sunset. It is rare to find single room accommodation in this area and it is reasonably priced. The bed is comfortable and rooms are fitted with air conditioners. The patio outside has beautiful view of the mountains.

Meal options would be appreciated since nearby restaurants are limited, and the nicer ones often require reservations (which travelers won't know about until you get there).

I really enjoyed my stay at Slow House. The location was beautiful and convenient, about 30 meters away from the Xiding bus stop along the Alishan Shuttle Bus route. Also close by are small roads that take you from the highway up to the Eryanping Trail, known for its sunset views. The property was new, very clean, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and cozy, perfect for cold mountain weather. There is a shared living room, and just outside is a viewing deck where you can sit down and watch the sunrise. There is a shared kitchen with hot water to make your own coffee, tea, and other meals. If you ask, you can also access laundry facilities, which is useful if Alishan is just one stop in your multi-day/week trip to Taiwan. Just make sure that you have at least 2 days to air dry your clothes, which can take time if it’s not sunny. It was also a pleasant surprise that, despite the language barrier, the owner and staff were very responsive. In the Xiding area, be ready to use a lot of Google Translate audio, which adds even more charm to the experience and lots of laughter.

Beautiful view of the mountains from the terrace makes this the perfect place to relax and unwind. The place is conveniently located at 2 minutes from the bus stop and an easy ride to Alishan and Jiayi. The single room is very comfortable and good value. The host is very welcoming and the accommodation has been thoughtfully renovated to retain its traditional characteristics. Altogether a wonderful stay!

The location is great. It is easy to locate, close to the bus station, convenience store and market. It is walking distance to chalin trail, tea mist tea trail and eryanping trail. The accommodation is clean, cozy and peaceful. Worth coming back to.

The place and the location is perfect for both hiking and relaxation (there's only one condition to the second one - you have to be lucky with other guests as this is an old/traditional house with zero sound insulation). Nevertheless, a beautiful property and the staff was super nice as well.

Very hospitable Staff, very welcoming. Place is cozy and has all the necessities. Location is absolutely amazing. 10 mins from the fantastic Tea and Mist Trail. But even if you dont hike, you can enjoy the view on the spacious outside seating Area.
