Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanThere’s only one electric socket available for charging while we have many devices with us (phones, iPad and laptops). Breakfast room looks very old, cheap and unattractive and using disposable containers so that we only had breakfast once there even though staying for 4 nights.
staff is nice, cleaning service is good, and the bath room and bay tub are great

CanadaCould have more info in English for westerners new to "no-tell-hotels", about what they are, how they operate, etc.,,,.... Perhaps a little booklet in the room, or info on the website.
A classic Asian "no-tell-hotel". Not new, but the room is private, large, clean and comfortable. Wonderful place to nurture your relationship with the one you love. For westerners not used to "no-tell-hotels", familiarize yourself with the unique quirks of check-in, check-out, privacy, etc., so you will have a sense of where you are, and can enjoy yourself when you get there. Within 800 meters of subway, shops, food, riverside walk, etc., in a wonderful suburb of Taipei.

United StatesEven though it is a non-smoking room, the room has a very strong smoke smell. I have to ask the janitor to spray air refresher multiple times to kill the smoke smell. The shower took a long time to heat up. People are very nice and helpful but the condition of the room isn't worth the money. The motel in Taiwan is a hook-up place not a place to sleep overnight. I didn't realize this culture difference so it is part of my fault
Very spacious room

AustraliaCheck-in only after 6pm!!! Wi-Fi did not work and had to change room. Had issues with TV reception - few English channels and that too the quality was awful. Friendly staff and tried their best to assist in every possible manner. Had to climb the stairs to the room - meaning when you have a heavy bag, not easy!!
Large room.

CanadaThis is a love/s*x motel, it is physically impossible to get a night's sleep in it - it was made for f****ng and leaving the same night, not sleeping. If you're a traveler or family, do not book this place as you won't be able to sleep due to: 1 - No soundproofing, and other residents taking baths at all times of the night and the car sound from the garage is intense. 2 - You can't turn off the lights in the main room without turning off the A/C and all electricity. Even if you turn off all electricity and lose AC, the exit sign is very bright and can't be turned off. 3 - Odd smells in the bathroom area. 4 - The quality of the hotel is horrible: there's like 2 power outlets total (inconveniently placed); everything from the fridge to the kettle to the shower to the toilet to the desk is old and not maintained; the light switches were broken: the Wi-Fi dropped constantly. 5 - The vibe is insanely creepy (colors, random doors behind half walls, etc.) and it feels like if you get killed in that motel it's really your fault l for not picking up on the clues. If you're just there to make love for a few hours, don't book it either, whoever you're bringing in doesn't deserve such poor treatment: 1 - The shower handle is leaking 2 - The ceramic is missing is many places 3 - The spa's outlet is leaking from everywhere. 4 - The spa had dust on it. 5 - The floor is super slippery in parts. If I had booked this with my girlfriend, I could not have gotten it on - would have felt like f****ng in the 1950s. I would also have to apologize for holding her with such low regards. Worst part is that once you realize you need to find another place the same night (check in is at 18:00 since it's made to stay from 21:00 to 21:03) they will refuse to reimburse for the nights you won't be in.
Bed seemed ok but I didn't sleep in it due to all the issue with the hotel - I had to find another room the same night.

GermanyThere was really nothing I didn't like.
Everything was great. Comfortable, extravagant, smart design, just amazing. Don't listen to the negative reviews. The place is great for staying a few nights with your significant other. Night sleep was extremely dark and quiet, without any disturbances. I have not had such good sleep in many weeks. Air conditiong was well balanced and you could just leave it on "auto" without being disturbed. Breakfast is from 7 to 10am and while not being luxurious, it serves its purpose and has a good coffee machine. Even though the building might be older (and the age does show in the hallways), the relevant utilities (such as ventilation covers, filters, bathroom appliances) were all stainless, new and in perfect working order. The room was clean and well maintained. It's not a family hotel, it's not a business hotel, it's not a backpacker hotel. It serves one purpose, and it does that very well. It does it at a fair price. There was no singing, no other noise. There was no bad smell. Although keep in mind, I told the staff before check-in that I want a non-smoking room. Perhaps some of the "smoking smell" reviews for this hotel are just from the general fragrance some old buildings may emmit when A/C is off. I had a great time and can recommend it. Wi-Fi was also very good for working either in the room or in the breakfast area. Transportation to MRT is convenient by bus and/or You-Bike.
