Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe internet connection wasn't really working well, we just use our own date almost the whole 3days. They don't allow early check-in, they seemed to be strict about it, the check in time is 4PM, a bit too late. Some of the staff weren't the friendliest in terms of greeting & smiling at the guests but they were okay, I think it also got to do with language barrier, which was proven on by some of our experiences in dealing with the locals like the staffs on 7/11 or family mart who couldn't even talked when we asked in simple English (which was a bit frustrating because it was on Ximending area where there are a lot of foreigners to cater, their staffs should at least understand basic English and can say at least yes or no, there, here and the like...)
We liked the location, away from the hustle and bustle in the Ximending area but close enough to enjoy the fun in the area. Near lots of restaurants, convenient stores and shops. We like the size of the beds and the bathroom, it was spacious. The room was okay, it wasn't the cleanest but it was tidy enough when we arrived/checked-in. We liked that the hair dryer was already available on the room and you don't need to asked for it to be given to you. The check-in process was simple and fast. You can leave your luggages when you arrived early before check-in.

EstoniaYou hear pretty much everything through the walls if there's somebody talking in the next room etc. Bring GOOD earplugs, I lost one night of sleep with weak ones.
For the price, a private room with private bathroom in Taipei is really a great bargain. Especially if its straight in Ximen, the city's most happening area with food and entertainment galore. The bed was comfy enough and there were no problems with cleanliness.

PhilippinesI don’t like the smell when we first entered the room, it’s a carpeted room and there’s a weird odor that stayed there. It goes away as we get used to it since we stayed for 8 days, I just don’t like it because even the blankets also have the same bad odor at times.
Its proximity to Ximending center is the best asset of this hotel. 5 mins walk to Ximen station Blue and Green line. Very accessible and the 711 is just right across the street.

GermanyI was happy with the bathroom, but the cleanliness of the room can be improved - the carpet looks a little old and could appear unclean, the dust on the side of the wardrobe can be cleaned better, a tiny cockcroach fell from the air-conditioner on the second night which I killed immediately (but only once over 4 nights), it would be good to replace all the bulbs of all lightings in the room (only 2 lights were working and the room appeared a bit dark to my taste).
The location of the hotel which is 5 min walk to the Ximen MRT station. Good value for the price paid - well equipped for minimal price (safe box, TV, internet, clothe hangers, desk and chair). Reception counter which opens long hours to cater for early check-out or late check-in (I arrived around 10pm and no issue with checking in). The bathroom is very clean.

PhilippinesThe hotel was renamed to WeLove Hotel (not indicated in the booking or booking instructions). The staff can come off as cold or unwelcoming but they were not rude. The room was relatively old and you could hear occupants from other rooms if their voices were loud.
The hotel was a few minutes walk from the Ximen Station, and was in the Ximending district so the location was very good. The room was spacious and provided water and some tea and coffee and there was the option for daily cleaning as long as the staff is informed. The hotel had very good value for money.

PhilippinesCleaning service is a let down and the hotel room wallpaper is old and has water damage. A common issue with Taipei hotels is the thin walls.
