Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel was perfectly located in the tea growing region of Shizhuo - walkable from the small town, and to the start of most of the hiking trails. We spent most of our time hiking around the area or sitting outside of our room just enjoying the view. We had such a relaxing time. The breakfast was excellent and the tea ceremony was lovely. The room was so clean and the bed very comfy. This little side-trip to Shizhuo and Drizzle Tea House was a highlight of our time in Taiwan.

I LOVE this place. This is the only place I will stay at in Shizhuo!!! Mr. Lin is so, so sweet. Not only did he pick us up within 5 minutes of us alerting him, he checked on us to see if we got down from the mountain and even after we checked out and were no longer guests, he still drove us to our new hotel with all of our luggages. The dinner by Mrs. Lin - AMAZING. It was the best food we ate our entire Taiwan trip. The tea picking / tea roasting / tea brewing experience was the most wholesome experience ever. Mr. Lin and his daughter were so patient with us and it was so special to brew our own tea that we picked ourselves. Accommodation was insanely clean. Bathroom facilities were super modern. Shower pressure was hot and strong. Toilet pressure was strong. You absolutely need to stay here when you are in Shizhuo. Mr. Lin's new street name is Drizzle Lin. ---- Drizzle Lin, the Tea Boss King In a misty town by the mountain's gleam, Where teapots bubble and kettles steam, Lived Drizzle Lin, the tea boss supreme, Ruler of teas, both wild and serene. With a flick of his wrist, he’d drizzle delight, In cups of green tea, so fresh and light. He’d waltz through Alishan’s oolong scene, A drizzler of flavor, smooth and clean. “Drizzle it here! Drizzle it there!” He’d chant with flair and a playful air. With tea leaves dancing in a fragrant spin, Every brew was magic from Drizzle Lin. His teapots were legends, his kettles grand, With spouts that poured like a wizard’s wand. “Green tea for calm, oolong for charm!” He’d shout, his voice a cheerful alarm. In the drizzle of dawn, he’d craft his blends, With a sprinkle of joy that never ends. From mountaintop mist to market stall din, All bowed to the greatness of Drizzle Lin. So next time you sip, remember this rhyme, Of a tea boss who turned drizzle to prime. Raise your cup high and give a big grin— Here’s to the legend, Drizzle Lin!

United StatesThere are only two guest rooms. The rooms for the guests are in an old farmhouse. It’s newly renovated with pretty high end furnishings including heater and air conditioner. But perhaps because the structure is old, the bathroom smelled a bit moldy. Also, we left our shoes outside the guest room, and some stray dogs got to them and gnawed on them like chew toys. The owner found them in the field in the morning and was very apologetic. He gave us free tea to make up for it even though it’s not their fault. I would definitely not leave shoes outside, since my new shoes were damaged for the rest of my trip in Taiwan.
Drizzle Tea House is part of a small tea farm operated by the Lin family, third generation owners of the tea farm. They are very kind and the children speak English well enough to coordinate logistics. Note: A few days before the trip, they will ask to connect with you via Line. We had a wonderful time, participating in the Tea Making Experience - during which Mr. Lin, the owner, showed us how to pick tea leaves from the fields, roast the leaves manually in a giant wok, roll the leaves to initiate the fermentation process, dry the leaves in an oven, and finally wrap our own tea in traditional origami-like packages to take home. Then the daughter served us three types of tea from their farm in a hour long Chinese Tea ceremony. Their teas are exceptional oolong and black varieties. Additionally she served the tea we picked and processed ourselves which tasted quite good as well to my own surprise. Finally they served dinner (reserved 3 days in advance). Which was carefully prepared and delicious. Definitely worth reserving the dinner since there are very limited food options in this remote town. To reserve at least 3 days in advance: - The Dinner Service is NTD $600 - The Tea Making Experience is NTD $900, availability based on tea growing seasons. Our short stay at Drizzle Tea House was definitely the highlight of our trip to Taiwan. We learned so much about tea farming and production from experts and tasted some of the most delicious teas I’ve ever had in a tranquil setting.

TaiwanThe place was gorgeous. We added the teahouse on Line and they told us they would pick us up at the bus stop, so we didn't have to walk up the mountain at all. We were allowed to explore the tea plantation by ourselves. In the factory, the owner shared different teas with us and explained a lot about the different kinds, so we were able to ask any questions. Their tea was also provided inside the rooms. The breakfast was fantastic with a gorgeous view in the morning, and afterwards the owner's daughter held a tea ceremony, trying three different kinds of teas. One of the most special experiences we have had our entire trip. The daughter also speaks English quite well. The family's sun was also able to give us and two other guests a ride back to the bus station. We had a fantastic and very special experience and would come back any time if we could. It was worth every cent.

Small and cozy room with all basic needs such as hair dryer and hot water with high pressure. The breakfast was very delicious. The host was friendly and responsive and offered a tea ceremony on the check-out day. The path to the actual location was a bit challenge to drive to, but the host offered us rides. For exploring the surrounding, there was a walking path through the tea garden to the streets and trekking path (and other tea and coffee gardens). The host also mentioned about a tea stir fixation experience that requires ahead reservation. We came from the north, ending our Ali-shan trip here. It was unplanned but a great decision! The location was great, with stunning sunset in the middle of the tea garden above the cloud! We wished we could have stayed here for at least one more day. We wanted to have more time to enjoy the nearby trekking path, which we only finished about 2/3, and sit down for the sunset.

AustraliaThe location is great for travellers without a car, we were picked up from and dropped off to Shizhou bus stop (5 mins ride) by the lovely staff. The shortcut stairs linking Shizhou in 10 mins walk, a viewing platform is right behind the Tea House, then it links to the start of the Mist Trail. All the trails are very beautiful and offer different scenery, must do. This Tea House is run by The Lin Family, who runs the surrounding tea plantation and factory. Thus, it offers excellent views to tea plantation and nearby mountains. We tried 3 different tea during tea ceremony/tasting, all are of high quality. Of course they sell tea, the prices are very reasonable too. In addition to tea, the home cooked dinner is another highlight. Unfortunately we had to leave early the next morning so missed the breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised that they offered to refund the breakfast cost. It's a little cold at night, it's great that the shower was hot in the heated bathroom, and the room has reverse cycle air-conditioning..

United StatesIt was a perfect stay!
There was so much to like! I loved the location (remote but still easily walkable to the bus stop/shops/restaurants). The room was very nice and modern with a very comfortable bed. The complimentary breakfast was so delicious! I also enjoyed the tea tasting ceremony. Just steps from the room, you can see the gorgeous view of the tea farm and the rolling hills in the background. I could not get over the views! There's also an observation deck that is accessible from the property and it takes you a few mins to climb to see yet another beautiful vantage point. Owners are sweet and helpful. They offered to pick me up from the bus stop, and then also offered to drive me to 7/11 since I needed to get cash for the hotel payment. I also loved seeing the many cats <3

AustraliaIf you have accessibility needs this property may be difficult without a car for you. To get to and from the town for meals or shopping you’ll need to walk up and down a lot of stairs. The very kind staff picked us up and took us back to the bus stop when we had our suitcases though! <3

The location is amazing, in a tea plantation. You have a few walking tracks around. We took amazing pictures. Their cook was not working that day so they booked a small place for us to have dinner and it was quite nice. Breakfast with the view outside was a highlight, followed by the tea ceremony. We were lucky there was an english/mandarin speaking guest at the same time, who could ask deeper questions and translate the responses to us in English.

Singapore-
Tea house is run by a family. The family was very kind to offer pick up and drop off from the Shizhuo bus station which is about 5min drive up to the tea house. The room is very clean and is well renovated and maintained - plus points that the bed and pillows were comfortable too! Bathroom also has great water pressure with consistent hot water supply. The breakfast provided is cooked by the lady of the household and she is a great chef. We preordered dinner from them for our 2nd night stay and it was delicious, filling and heartwarming (highly recommended!). Our meals were well taken care of there :) The location of the tea house is great as it is located within the tea plantation itself. It also comes with a tea tasting ceremony from tea leaves in the plantation - perfect for tea lovers. If you are commuting by public transport to Alishan, it is walkable to the Shizhuo bus stop. There is a flight of stairs that you need to take to the tea house, but a trip to Shizhuo bus stop takes about 10-15min by foot. At the bus stop there is also a convenience store hi-life if you need to purchase additional water or food. What is great is that the tea house is also connected to one of the viewing spots for sunset at Ding Shizhuo viewing point. A less than 10min flight of stairs up would bring you to the viewing point. If you are intending to hike to the rest of the trails, the mist and Sakura trails are relatively nearby. Would definitely recommend a stay here if you're looking for a cozy zen environment to rest and recharge. It was a pleasant and unforgettable experience.
